  • Songs Of Yesterday 5/1/18

If you needed further affirmation that Black Country Communion do indeed fill that 70's live void vacated by Zeppelin, then we hope you were there last night to witness Hughes, Bonamassa, Sherinian and Bonham's two hour set at London's Hammersmith Apollo. OK - their chequered history as a result of their pinkies being in numerous musical pies doesn't see them touring very often (this was the second and last date of their UK tour) - but when they do - you savour every moment. Anyway, with a review and more pics to come, check out today's 'Song Of Yesterday' Video Of The Day.

  • It's A Kind Of Magic 4/1/18

Following on from the news that Magic - a kind of Queen - had won our 2017 WRC Best Tribute award - we suppose it's no surprise that Queen + Adam Lambert have now also walked off with our Best Rock Performance award gaining a massive 61% vote from our members! Indeed today's Video Of The Day is taken from their awesome gig at London's O2 Arena (pictured) just over three weeks ago. Watch out tomorrow for the winner of our Best Festival award!

  • A Decade Of The Mad Axeman 4/1/18

'A Decade Of The Mad Axeman' is a retrospective collection out on Friday 26th January that documents the studio and live output of the renowned German guitarist Michael Schenker between 2007 and 2016. From his return to the roots of MSG through to Temple of Rock and Michael Schenker Fest, the different group line-ups and special guests have attested to the stunning power of his creativity, while critics have unanimously considered the last decade to be one of the most impressive phases of his career to date.

  • Hammersmith Communion Tonight 4/1/18

"However, BCC's strength is that their sound is fixed firmly in the mid 70s, and so their songs already sound classic. And so as the band rattle through tracks from both of their albums, the crowd devours them as if they've always been there, with each solo greeted by a huge cheer, the choruses sung loudly and the fists raised at all the right moments. A spectacular 'Song Of Yesterday', a blistering 'One Last Soul', a beautiful 'Save Me' and a breakneck rendition of 'The Outsider' are particularly noteworthy in a set full to the brim with highlights." That was part our take on Black Country Communion way back in July 2011 at London's High Voltage (pictured) and the boys are back in town tonight at Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo!

  • Stand-Up Rock Comedy Anyone? 3/1/18

Talking of At The Sun, the band are supporting Rock 'n Roll stand-up comic and author Pete K Mally on the Birmingham and Bristol legs of his 2018 Live N Loud - For Those About To Laugh tour! We originally bumped into Pete in the gents (cut out the toilet humour please) when we saw Living Colour and Stone Broken at London's ULU in October and then saw him host Progtoberfest 2 at the end of the same month in Balham (pictured). Needless to say we will be catching Pete when he stops off at London's Leicester Square Theatre on Saturday 17th February - a tour that also includes Epsom, Leicester and Nottingham.
