Award-winning Blues Rock band King King play the London Shepherd’s Bush Empire tonight. Their special guests are Rhino’s Revenge (featuring Rhino from Status Quo) who will also be joining them at Birmingham Town Hall tomorrow and the Bath Forum on Saturday. Meanwhile, Gerry Jablonski And The Electric Band will be special guests at the Edinburgh Queen’s Hall on Friday 26th January and finally Xander And The Peace Pirates will be their special guests at the Sheffield Leadmill on Saturday 27th January. King King will also be headlining the very first Newport Blues Festival on Saturday 2nd June.

On Friday 26th January, Inside Out Music release 'Wuthering Nights: Live in Birmingham', the new live release from guitar legend Steve Hackett. 'Wuthering Nights' was filmed at the Birmingham Symphony Hall during Hackett's recent, critically-acclaimed Genesis Revisited & Classic Hackett tour. And last night we were lucky enough to be at a special screening of the film including a Q&A session with the man himself! This tour marked the 40th anniversary of 'Wind & Wuthering', Hackett's last album with Genesis which reached number 7 in the UK album chart. His band are: Roger King (keyboards), Gary O'Toole (drums/percussion), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes), Nick Beggs (bass, stick & twelve string) and Nad Sylvan on vocals plus special guests John Hackett and Amanda Lehmann.

Tonight at Putney's Half Moon in London sees the debut of 2016 WRC Best Blues Rock award winner Sari Schorr's new band where they will be playing songs from her forthcoming new album. The new line-up includes Ash Wilson (pictured) guitar/vocals, Bob Fridzema (ex-King King) on keyboards, Mat Beable (Stevie Nimmo Band) bass guitar and Roy Martin (Connie Lush Band/Modern English) on drums although Neal Wilkinson, whose work credits include Van Morrison, James Morrison, Paul McCartney, Ray Charles and Annie Lennox, features on the album.

Walking Papers, which features guitarist/vocalist Jeff Angell, drummer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season, and 2017 Latin Grammy producer nominee), bassist Duff McKagen (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) and keyboardist Benjamin Anderson, have upped the sonic ante with the lucky 13 tracks put forth on their aptly dubbed second album 'WP2', which is set for release next Friday from Loud & Proud Records. Put up or shut up. It’s a mantra many Rock bands of today tend to give great lip service to, but often fail to deliver the goods to back up their lofty claims. This hard-Rocking Seattle quartet know exactly how to forge the sounds that back up everything they want to be as a vibrant creative entity.

Templeton Pek are starting 2018 with a bang and they have released their second single 'The Awakening' (today's Track Of The Day), taken from the upcoming album 'Watching The World Come Undone', also out on Friday 23rd February. Not only is it a fast-paced and melodic anthem, but also a song with an important message according to the band, who share a little insight: "It's a song that came about pretty quick in the process, it seemed to encapsulate the feeling at the time we wrote it. We were going through the beginnings of the Brexit vote and lots of other world tension was escalating politically. It has been a wake up call for a lot of people who are just sick of politicians and being lied to or "influenced", and as a by product seems to have actually got more people taking an interest in having their say, how their countries or cities are being run and actually using their votes or voices.”

Ignore The Sign (Video Of The Day), the consummate new Classic Rock band formed by German singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Ossy Pfeiffer, have signed to Steamhammer/SPV to release their utterly outstanding debut album ‘'A Line To Cross’' on Friday 23rd February. Having already written a bunch of songs, Ossy recruited guitarist/vocalist Anca Graterol (Rosy Vista), former The Sweet and current Michael Schenker Group guitarist Steve Mann, former Uli Jon Roth and UFO (studio] bass player Lars Lehmann, percussionist Momme Boe and drummer Kristof Hinz, who has just put down the drum tracks for Eloy’s latest album. “"This group isn’'t about egos, the focus is on real team work",” states Pfeiffer, adding: “"Ignore The Sign consists of accomplished musicians; that’s why there’'s no room for self-adulation. The tried and tested motto It’s all about the song’ applies to everybody involved.” ‘'A Line To Cross'’ oozes this dictum."

"From the heaviest song comes the Bluesiest. 'Judge A Man' covers all the usual downtrodden themes, but is a return to form with some great guitar and vocals, showing just what DP is capable of, this is much more like it! 'Junket Man' is another good strong song, with its Rock/Blues style it would be at home on any Joe Bonamassa album and could become a crowd favourite when played live. The same could be said for 'iEyes' this time with a Funky bass line and more of a band feel, whilst bemoaning the ever growing importance of technology, this song would probably work just as well as an instrumental."
