Ahead of both her November co-headline UK tour with award-winning Belfast-based Blues guitarist Dom Martin, and her upcoming ninth studio album, 'Waiting For The Daylight', due to be released by Tuohi Records on Friday 7th October, Finnish Blues Rock slide guitarist and singer songwriter, Erja Lyytinen, has just released her second single, from the nine-track album, 'Last Girl', that's about Erja being bullied at school as a young girl, which is also one of today's six of the best 'Friday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further new and recent releases from Frenchy And The Punk, Kings Of Mercia, Young Medicine, Victoria K and Herbst.

Was it really just over eight years ago that we first saw Luke Spiller and The Struts playing in a tent at Hyde Park's British Summer Time, headlined by Black Sabbath, the very same lead singer who last Saturday was one of the special guests performing at Wembley Stadium, in tribute to his late friend and Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, and today's Video Of The Day is The Struts latest anthemic single, 'Fallin' With Me'. Having toured the UK this Summer to a rapturous response, ‘Fallin With Me’ is the band’s first taste of new music since they signed with leading US label Big Machine in March this year, and they will be touring the US throughout this Autumn, with Luke also appearing at Taylor's LA tribute concert at the end of this month.

2019 WRC Best Unplugged award winning Danny Vaughn, returns to the UK later this year for an acoustic solo tour named "Vaughnsday On The Road" by his fans, and for today's Podcast Of The Day, we go back to March 2020, when we were lucky enough to chat to Danny in London, a pre-pandemic interview where we discussed Tyketto, Waysted, his acclaimed solo album 'Myths, Legends & Lies' plus of course how Snake Oil & Harmony came to be. Replacing the originally scheduled Snake Oil & Harmony Hurricane Riders tour, the 11-date Vaughnsday kicks off in Edinburgh on Thursday 24th November, ending at Bradford's Nightrain on Friday 9th December.

A Perfect Circle co-founder/guitar player, Billy Howerdel, released his eagerly-awaited debut solo album, 'What Normal Was', in June via Alchemy Recordings/Rise Records/BMG, and last month he unveiled today's Video Of The Day for the album track 'Free and Weightless', recruiting renowned filmaker/fashion photographer Jordan Hemingway. Howerdel recently wrapped up his first national tour in support of this 10-song, self-produced collection, that saw Billy joined by longtime collaborator, and 'What Normal Was' co-producer, Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) on guitar, with former A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese also performing on several dates.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rory Gallagher’s 'Deuce' sophomore solo album from 1971, a deluxe CD boxset will be released by UMC on Friday 30th September, of which the previously unreleased version of the legendary Irish Blues Rock guitarist's classic song, 'Crest Of A Wave (Alternative Take 2)', is today's surfing Video Of The Day. This extensive release digs deep into the Rory Gallagher Archives and will include a new mix of the original album, twenty-eight previously unreleased alternate takes, a six-song 1972 BBC Radio ‘In Concert’ and seven Radio Bremen radio session tracks. The package also contains a 64-page hardback book with a foreword by Johnny Marr of The Smiths, unseen images by the late Mick Rock, plus essays and memorabilia from the album recording. The 2CD and 3LP will be cut down versions from the deluxe box and there will be a special D2C 1LP of the 'BBC In Concert - Live at The Paris Theatre, 13 January 1972'.
