For those of you new to Leogun - they were pulling up trees at festivals all summer in 2013 from Danson Park to Hyde Park and after 38 years of gigging there wasn't a lot that got the WRC juices flowing making us sit up and go wow! This talented 3-piece band from South-East London - including guitarist/vocalist Tommy Smith, a Robert Plant lookalike/soundalike and drummer Michael Lloyd with his Bonhamish hat - fired off Zeppelin trait repetitive riffs linked to a modern feel that added to the freshness of their sound. Anyway, the band rounded 2013 off with a storming Underworld, Camden, gig (see Wrinkly pictured with bass guitarist Matt Johnson) but we missed their tour with Extreme last year so were delighted to see that they were supporting the mighty Skynyrd at the Hammersmith Apollo this Thursday - hence they are our Video Of The Day!

Friday night's Blues On The Marsh show is today's Track Of The Day which features world exclusives from Katie Bradley (live in the studio), Matt Long and Mississippi MacDonald & The Cottonmouth Kings. There's also music from Kris Barras, the Kaz Hawkins Band and all-time WRC favourites Nicky Moore & The Blues Corporation (pictured).

The bad news is that part 1 of Sky Arts' coverage of this year's Download Festival was actually broadcast last night! The good news is that part 2 featuring headliners Iron Maiden and Rammstein, as well as Korn, Jane's Addiction and Deftones - is on at 9pm tonight! Hot off the press following last night Blues On The Marsh show is today's Track Of The Day featuring BluesRockfest's very own Robin Bibi live in the studio. And just a reminder again that BluesRockFest at Leo's Red Lion is on Saturday 24th September and there are still a few remaining Earlybird Tickets on sale here for £15 (instead of £20).

After a few glitches WRC Promotions had to cancel our Summer Mini-Fest at Leo's but promised we would announce something exciting in the near future and we like to carry out our promises! Therefore, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Broken Witt Rebels (our Vid Of The Day and who will be at this year's Isle of Wight Festival) will be appearing under the WRC banner on Thursday 20th October at The Proud in Camden and on the following night at Leo's in Gravesend! Supporting them on both shows will be the Kris Barras Band who have just released their critically acclaimed 'Lucky 13' album. And if that isn't enough - local favourite Damo Fawsett and his band Big River will be on the bill at Leo's! Tickets for the Camden gig are now on sale here and for the Leo's gig here.

"Perfectly positioned to the left of the stage they kicked off with ‘Dirty Love’ (what a great opener) and proceeded to reel off the ‘The Best Of Thunder 1989 – 1995’ which coincidentally is the name of their new CD due to be released on 17th July. Funny that - but no complaints from us as they blasted through their short set with their usual explosive mix of Rock such as ‘Wonder Days’ and ‘Backstreet Symphony’ plus their signature ballad ‘Love Walked In’. ‘I Love You More Than Rock ‘N’ Roll’ was a classic finale but left you wanting more. And that was it." That was AJ's taken on Thunder when they supported ZZ Top at Wembley Arena last year. This time Thunder are the top dogs at Wembley tonight as they are supported by the awesome King King. Italian Symphonic Death Metal masters Fleshgod Apocalypse are just about to embark on a UK headline tour throughout March including The Underworld, London, on Thursday 17th March. Support for all shows comes from British metallers Xerath. The band have also recently released their new album ‘King’ and is easily Fleshgod Apocalypse’s most forceful yet! The album was mixed and mastered by world renowned producer Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, At The Gates, Arch Enemy) at Fascination Street Studio in Sweden.

Following the recent success of 'An Evening With Russ Ballard' - the ex-Argent guitarist/vocalist is now out on the road with his band this March promoting his new album 'It's Good To Be There'. Starting at Milton Keynes on Tuesday 8th March the tour concludes with a gig in London on Friday 18th March with ex-Argent bandmate Bob Henrit on drums, Chris Winter on guitar and Steve Smith on keyboards. And filed under the category of 'you couldn't make it up' check out today's Vid Of The Day - a teaser for 'An Evening With Russ Ballard video special' - and in particular 3 minutes and 9 seconds into the vid - where a certain Wrinkly The Elder gives his forthright views on the evening's proceedings with a smiling AJ alongside!
