    "Halfway through their current 'Pills' UK tour - Big Boy Bloater and The LiMiTs certainly delivered their meds at a packed and appreciative Black Heart in London's Camden last Wednesday night. Supported by his old mucker Jack J. Hutchinson, Bloater's trio, including Matt Cowley (drums) and Steven Oates (bass), are on the road from September to October, following the release of their latest critically acclaimed album ‘Pills’ in June." That was part of our Big Boy Bloater and The LiMiTs Black Heart review exactly three years ago today, and we were lucky enough to grab a few words with the big man before his set, which is today's Podcast Of The Day.

Indeed, 'Disillusioned' features 5 tracks comprised of 3 original new songs alongside 2 covers sung in Icelandic and Hungarian, in which multiple layers of Mariana’s vocals combine dark folk with ambient electronica to create an ethereal choir like effect.

  • All We Knew And Ever Loved 15/9/21

    Cinematic Rock outfit Earthside have finally unleashed their debut offering in 6 years, in the form of a monumental song plus today's accompanying earth shattering animation Video Of The Day for 'All We Knew and Ever Loved', out now via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. It's dastardly arrival is ushered in by a very human spiral of conflict, represented by the dueling drum performance of Ben Shanbrom and featured guest performer, Baard Kolstad of Leprous. Opening with the haunting cry of screeching lead guitar, timpani and pipe organ, the ominous introduction sets the stage for a horrifying climax that never seems to lessen in effect with repeated listens.

  • Heavy Load Blues 14/9/21

    Renowned quartet Gov’t Mule - led by GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitar legend and producer Warren Haynes - will release their first-ever Blues album, 'Heavy Load Blues', on Friday 12th November, via Fantasy Records, and today's Video Of The Day is the first original track from the forthcoming collection, ‘Heavy Load’. It's an ominous acoustic Blues number highlighted by Haynes’ mournful vocal and supple yet deliberate riffing. Indeed, the album itself encompasses an even mix of Haynes’ originals and revered covers originally made famous by the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James, Junior Wells, Ann Peebles, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and even Tom Waits and the Animals. In the meantime, before it's release, the band will continue with their 2021 tour dates in the USA.
