  • Time To Reinvent Tradition! 23/5/16

"You must have seen that Toyota Advert featuring Primal Scream and 'Movin On Up'? The one with the audience going wild as the band rock out on stage playing with their cellos and double bass? We're challenged to "redefine fun" and "it's time to reinvent tradition". The irony was not lost on me as Dick Dynamite strolled on to the Borderline stage last Monday with his double bass in tow - supported by his Doppelgängers - namely Loz Hawkins on guitar and Aitor 'Sleepy' Gonzales on drums. Their frenetic delivery was very much in line with their Facebook profile "sociopathic bastards from a planet on the far side of the sun. Some say they play music, the truth is much more sinister..." but the intense Phsycobilly from the half-naked DD&TD's went down well with their home town crowd as they beat the s**t out of their last CD 'Dead Man Walking'. More like waking the dead but definitely redefining fun!" Read the rest of AJ's Hillbilly Moon Explosion/Dick Dynamite & The Doppelgangers review here and check out our photo gallery here.

  • JST Goes 'Wild' 13/4/16

Blues-Rocker Joanne Shaw Taylor will release a new album this September before touring the UK in October/November. 'Wild' is set for release on Friday 30th September and the tour kicks off two week later when JST is supported by Aaron Keylock (pictured) who the WRC also saw at Ramblin' Man last year. We also saw Joanne at the Jazz Cafe last October and she is also supporting Joe Bonamassa in Greenwich in July.

  • Keith Emerson 1944 - 2016 13/3/16

When I was 15 my next door neighbour Phil handed me a Memorex 120 self compilation cassette tape (pictured) to listen to. He was three years older than me but was a bit like an older brother looking after me if I got into any scrapes at school (no change there then). Anyway I thought of Phil as more of a 'Soul boy' but once I heard the intro to The Nice's 'Karelia Suite' I was hooked all the way through from 'One Of Those People' to ELP's 'Tarkus'. Another new dimension for me in the wonderful word of Prog Rock and an introduction to keyboard wizard Keith Emerson who sadly died on Friday aged 71. Yesterday - 44 years on - I played that same tape in memory of not only Emerson but also my old mate Phil who is now also with Keith at that great gig in the sky. Anyway, less of the words - today's Vid Of Day let's Emerson's fingers do the talking. AJ.

  • WRC Pointless Part 2 Tonight! 11/1/16

Those of you who tuned in on Friday evening to see the WRC represented by Wrinkly The Silver and Wrinkly The Classical on BBC1's Pointless would have no doubt been proud of their exploits particularly the plug for the WRC! This prompted a surge in social media communications during the airing of the show such as numerous hits on our website (including membership applications), Facebook postings and numerous tweets! Sadly, in the end the guys fell at the final hurdle but return tonight to fight another day again at 5.15pm. Hopefully Dave and Stuart will get some music questions this time!

  • Bringing The House Down! 11 June 2015

Supporting the legendary Status Quo at Burghley House on Saturday was simply amazing according to the latest Walkway update! Apparently Mr. Parfitt (pictured with the guys) was extremely complimentary to the band and made a point of coming over to speak to them! Not only that but there was a brilliant reaction from the crowd (read the review here) and lots of new fans were made! Consequently Walkway's very windy soundcheck is our Vid Of The Day and don't forget the guys are supporting Quo again at Hatfield House on Saturday 20th June!

  • Jukin' Jen's Bucket Of Blues! 10 June 2015

Talking of 2014 WRC Award winners Little Devils - the WRC bumped into a number of people at 'The Storm Inside' launch party - one of which was Jennifer Noble from Chicago who is pictured alongside second from the right. Anyway we're delighted to feature as today's 'Track Of The Day' Jukin' Jen's Bucket Of Blues for the very first time!
