The WRC were delighted to hear from Pieces of Mind guitarist Vic Johnson after they were featured on BBC Four’s 'The UK’s Best Part-Time Band' last Friday night. We first introduced you to the guys in February 2015 when the band celebrated their 50th anniversary with a great new album of original stuff entitled 'Born At The Bosco' (pictured). Vic kindly messaged us "Hi thanks for the posting on your website and your comments. The show was awesome, the sound lighting, editing, everything! Rhod Gilbert was on The Graham Norton show on BBC1 and used a clip of us playing and the interviews we did to promote the show!! We had some great comments too!! Two national channels in one night!!! Got to be made up with that!!! Thanks Wrinklies You Rock!"

And on the subject of BluesRockfest - Ian and Malcolm of The Blues Club podcast - who have kindly sponsored Little Devils set - will both be in attendance on Saturday! Anyway, they have again done the WRC proud with their latest broadcast which is today's Track Of The Day and includes both 2014 WRC Award winners Little Devils and Chantel McGregor, the Troy Redfern Band, The Rainbreakers plus also for Aj's benefit Gary Moore and 'Cold Day In Hell'. Hopefully the weather won't be as bad as that on Saturday!

All roads lead today to Hyde Park and British Summer Time headliners The Who. Rumoured to be their last ever tour - both they and main support Paul Weller will also be appearing at Glastonbury on Sunday. Read our review here of the last time we saw them at the O2 Arena London in March plus we're also off to see Classic Quadrophenia at The Royal Abert Hall Sunday fortnight! The awards are to be hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenter Baylen Leonard at The Heston Venue, Cranford, Middlesex, over the weekend of 29th & 30th October. Previous winners include The Shires, Brandy Clark, Ward Thomas, Brad Paisley, Luke & Mel, Striking Matches and the weekend opens with a Best of British Showcase featuring Dexeter, The Southern Companion (Track Of The Day), Thorne Hill, Gary Quinn and guest American Beau Fuller, with the ceremony itself featuring performances from Red Sky July, Katy Hurt, Holloway Road and many more!

It's always good to be included in a tweet from the Fran McGillivray Band - who are playing The Pelton Arms in Greenwich at 6pm tonight! Fran & Mike started playing Folk, Roots and Blues in the 1970’s and their trio will include a good balance of original songs from the band’s latest album 'Some Luck' plus their varying musical influences will also cater to many a different music lover's taste!
