"The set continued in similar fashion with punters jaws dropping open at some of the solos. In the end Joanne could not resist indulging herself by playing 'Manic Depression' from one of her childhood influences Jimi Hendrix. My personal favourite though was 'Blackest Day' which sums up emotions that so many of us have experienced and certainly is the case for JST. The complete set showcases all the skills she has developed from her idols - hard stuff like SRV - the bite a la Albert Collins and the riffs from the Jimi Hendrix book." That was Wrinkly's take on the first time the WRC saw Joanne Shaw Taylor (pictured by John Bull at Ramblin' Man this year) headline at the O2 Islington in May 2011.
