Prog Rock pioneers Mabel Greer’s Toyshop (for without Mabel Greer, there would be no Yes), have released a new album 'The Secret' (today's Video Of The Day). On this album, Peter Banks (former Yes guitarist) can be heard playing a guitar duo with Mabel Greer’s founder, guitarist and vocalist, Clive Bayley for the first time in fifty years. Clive has written a new song around guitar parts recorded by Peter Banks, who passed away in 2013. This song is a tribute to Banks and Chris Squire who both joined the band in September 1967. 'The Secret' is an album of nine new songs, with Max Hunt on keyboards and Hugo Barré on bass joining Bayley and Hagger. With roots back to an era when music evolved like never before and now combined with musical maturity, this album is must have for all Prog fans everywhere.

It was great to catch up once again with Aynsley Lister at London's iconic 100 Club on Tuesday night. Aynsley headlined our second WRC Bluesfest in Gravesend back in July 2014 and it was cool to hear again his classic 'Home', listen to some of his new stuff and of course to be blown away once again by his own unique cover of 'Purple Rain'. A bonus ball from the gig was the performance of the Mark Pontin Group (pictured and Track Of The Day) who had travelled all the way up the M4 from South Wales to support Aynsley. "Are you having good time?" as we returned to another stand-out from 'The Truth' 'Can't Go On Without You' which again saw Holland's keys sparring with another Jones solo before he played the metal riff from the title track - a song, that Laurence told me in a really enjoyable interview beforehand, reflects inward personal sacrifices - such as being a musician - "Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have a different life?" That was part of our Laurence Jones gig review at London's Borderline on Tuesday 23rd January and we were lucky enough to record today's Wrinklycast/Track Of The Day interview with Laurence before his soundcheck.

Hot on the heels of Steel Panther's announcement at their Hammersmith Apollo gig last Friday that they will be special guests to the yet unknown Ramblin' Man Fair Main Stage headliners on Saturday 30th June - The Cult have since been announced as the Main Stage headliner's for Sunday 1st July. It's their only UK performance this year and they will also be joined on the roster by Gun, Chas & Dave, Me And That Man, Goldray and Voyager who all have been recently added to the bill.

Was it really three years ago that we last saw Aynsley Lister performing at this very venue? With his hard hitting rhythms and guitar work reminiscent of a young Clapton, Lister is one of very few artists playing Blues-infused Rock with a modern edge – heartfelt, soul searching and full of fine song-writing played with both passion and vitality. Lister literally played through the pain barrier at that 100 Club gig three years ago, suffering from a trapped nerve in his back and was consequently drugged up to the eyeballs on painkillers. However, that night, Aynsley belied the agony he was in and put in a killer performance. Fast forward three years later last night and thankfully no back problems but another killer performance just the same. There is no question that Lister has the voice, the Blues/Rock guitar prowess and indeed the boat race. And on this evidence, given the accomplished deputation by Amadeo, he also has the support of a formidable band, who gel, enjoy the experience and don't just go through the motions. But five years after he was the only British artist to be featured in Classic Rock's 2007 'Top 10 Contemporary Blues Artists' - the question could be asked why is he still doing the clubs, pubs and supporting bigger bands up and down the country? From an entirely selfish point of view - who cares?" Can it really be nearly six years ago since we reviewed Aynsley Lister's gig at The Half Moon in Putney (pictured)? Well the man himself is back in London tonight headlining Tuesday Blues at the iconic 100 Club.

Following closely on from recent news from our Canadian correspondent and WRC member Moose On The Loose, we were also delighted to hear from our American correspondent Rick Menitti. Looking forward to the Spring, Rick sent us the line-up for this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival that is taking place between Friday 27th April and Sunday 6th May. As well as Aerosmith, John Mayall, Samantha Fish and many many more - Rick's favourite band The Revivalists will also be playing and consequently they are today's Video Of The Day!
