"The band are a tight unit with the rhythm section of Will Beavis (thirteen years service) on drums and Elliott Blackler on bass. On keyboards we find Josiah J. Manning who brings the variety to the band among the guitar base of the band, but who is also the band's producer. Kris brings the gravel-style Bluesy Rock vocal along the lines of Sheffield's Joe Cocker and a mean dirty guitar played with precision. Back to the set, the train rolls on with two songs from the latest album 'Propane' and the catchy 'Hail Mary', the latter of which everyone joins in (if you're going to get your crowd to sing, make it an easy lyric). 'Heart On Your Sleeve' brings out some Country influences as they cross genres with the Blues and Southern Rock influences in their catalogue." We're indebted to regular WRC contributor Phil Honley for today's Video Of The Day. In Phil's opinion, possibly gig of the year so far as Alice In Chains played London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire last Sunday. Phil added that the Rock band from Seattle does not give us the pleasure of its company too often in the UK but when it does, boy is it worth the wait. Phil also points out that the sound quality of his video in no way reflects the sound on the night! The sound on the night was first class from the very first number but Phil was shooting with a low spec camera from the Level 1 balcony!

"Finishing with their anthemic 'Forever Young' the crowd warmly applaud them off the stage before rushing to see the closing act on the Orange stage, The Bad Flowers. I say rushing, most are happy to stop for beers along the way, but still ensure the Black Country trio get a lot of love. Frontman and guitarist Tom Leighton provides the front line alone whilst bassist Dale Tonks, complete with Monster Truck t-shirt, takes centre stage, albeit a small one, showing that bassists need love too. Making up the naughty blooms is drummer Karl Selickis doing a fine job of keeping the two frontmen in their rhythmic place. As a trio, they work damn hard, with Leighton's Les Paul and wah pedal getting some mileage and Tonks bass solo showing a commendable work ethic. With tracks like 'Thunder Child' in their repertoire, they show they are a force to be reckoned with. Showing an emotional thanks to the audience for the support they have received the set closes the excellent Orange stage for the day and the festival. The Bad Flowers - a great bunch." Nearly twelve years after we last saw them performing at Twickenham Stadium, the Rolling Stones returned to Rugby Union's HQ for the latest leg of their 'No Filter' tour with another storming set which belied their advancing years. Indeed these orginal wrinkly rockers, ably supported by James Bay, proved once again that age is temporary but class is permanent as testified by today's Video Of The Day!

With just eleven days to go to Ramblin' Man Fair in Mote Park, Maidstone - today we turn our attention to WRC favourite The Kris Barras Band who seem to be continually on the road, after recently supporting Beth Hart, and following Camden Rocks, they take in London's Borderline tonight. As well as Ramblin' Man Fair on Sunday 1st July, Kris himself then joins up with Supersonic Blues Machine for their tour which begins at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on Wednesday 4th July before getting back with his band in October to support Joanne Shaw Taylor on her UK tour !

"That guy just keeps getting better and better!" was just one of the many compliments passed Laurence's way, as well as to his band who were awesome. A setlist comprising, in the majority, of new tracks from his yet to be released album was a bold move - but his set's balance of new stuff plus his own favourites and fan favourites hit the right chord as the 25 year old pulled it off big time. His fans, obviously now salivatating at the thought of the new release in over a month's time, can also look forward to his nationwide tour in May plus an appearance at Holland's International Blues Festival in June. Do not miss him." Our countdown will start in earnest tomorrow as we showcase the acts that will be appearing at this annual music festival celebrating classic and contemporary Rock, Progressive Rock, Blues and Country, a rock festival designed for Rock fans by Rock fans, their aim simply to create the ultimate festival experience at Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent - close to London and surrounded by the beautiful English countryside.
