Japanese superstars Man With A Mission have announced the brilliantly unique Electro/Rock Norwegian outfit Biru Baby as support on their UK and European tour starting in February (except Moscow and St. Petersburg). The tour will start at Manchester’s Academy3 on Wednesday 27th February, call at London’s ULU the following night, before heading to Europe for shows in Germany, France and Russia. The tour follows the release of their most recent album, 'Chasing the Horizon' (see today's Track Of The Day), the wolf collective’s fifth in their native Japan, but their first brand new album to be released worldwide and has received widespread critical acclaim.

South Yorkshire Melodic Grunge/Punk band Hands Off Gretel release their new album ‘I Want The World’ (see Video Of The Day) on Friday 29th March on their own label Puke Pop Records. Fronted by the whirlwind of style, creativity and attitude that is Lauren Tate on vocals/guitar, they are an explosion of colour and sound, much needed in 2019! Inspired by the volatile and liberating melody fueled noise of bands such as Hole, The Distillers, Nirvana and PJ Harvey, the album features twelve-tracks hugely addictive, and sometimes vindictive, Melodic Rock that is unafraid to blend the heavy screeching distortion of Grunge Rock with the catchy hooks of Bubblegum Pop, whilst keeping true to their original roots in Punk Rock. Also featuring Sean Bon on guitar, Sam Hobbins on drums and Becky Baldwin on bass, watch out for their London Album Launch at Nambucca on Thursday 28th March plus when they return to London at Camden Rocks on Sunday 2nd June.

‘Only Human’ is the fifth album by UK Melodic Rock stalwarts Vega and was released in May last year. Self-produced by the group and mixed by Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), the twelve songs included on it have seen Vega take their songwriting and musicianship to the next level. Having recently played their own UK headlining tour to promote the album plus selected festivals over the Summer months, the band have kicked-off 2019 with a set of dates supporting Skid Row plus Backyard Babies, H.E.A.T. and Killit including London's O2 Forum in Kentish Town tonight. Featuring Nick Workman lead vocals, backing vocals, acoustic guitar, Tom Martin bass guitar, Marcus Thurston lead guitar, James Martin keyboards, Mikey Kew guitar, backing vocals and Martin ‘Hutch' Hutchinson drums, they are also playing Butlins Giants Of Rock Festival in Minehead tomorrow and Birmingham's O2 Institute Frontiers Festival next Saturday 2nd February.

Legendary Prog outfit Atomic Rooster played Chelsea's Under The Bridge venue last night with special guests Clearwater Creedence Revival. The re-formed band featured two original members, Peter French on vocals and Steve 'Boltz' Bolton on guitar, with Shug Millage (bass), Bo Walsh (drums) and Adrian Gautrey (organ/keys). Playing with the full blessing of Vincent Crane’s widow, the band has been kicking up a storm at festivals and shows across the UK and receiving stunning reviews. Legendary Prog outfit Atomic Rooster are playing Chelsea's Under The Bridge venue tonight. Formed from the ashes of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown in 1969, their debut gig was at the Lyceum in London (supported by Deep Purple) and their first self-titled album was released in February 1970. It was after the release of 'Death Walks Behind You' that they had their first taste of UK chart success with 'Tomorrow Night' and 'Devil’s Answer'. The band split in 1975 and briefly reformed in the early 1980’s. Main band member Vincent Crane joined Dexys Midnight Runners in 1985 for the 'Don’t Stand Me Down' album before he sadly passed away in 1989. Special guests are Clearwater Creedence Revival who perform, surprise, surprise, the greatest hits of Creedence Clearwater Revival. After bringing the house down at Under the Bridge on their last visit the band are back by popular demand.

Tonight the All-Star Band, BluesClub, will be making a rare appearance at The Eel Pie Club, The Patch, 67 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ. BluesClub get together to play only when not touring with their own star bands. They have a combined love for the Blues of America from the 1930's to the 70's and their set list includes songs from artists as varied as Leadbelly, Son House and Charley Patton, to Slim Harpo, Sonny Boy Williamson, John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal and Canned Heat. The line-up includes Guy Fletcher (Dire Straits and Mark Knopfer)/Steve Smith (Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Robert Plant, Gary Moore, Kenney Jones and Ronnie Wood) on keys and steel guitar, Robbie McIntosh (Pretenders, Paul McCartney Band and John Mayer) on guitar, Helena May (Kokomo) on vocals, Danny Cummings (Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler) on drums, Peter Hope-Evans (Medicine Head and Pete Townshend) on mouth organ and jews harp, and Sophie Lord on bass. Doors open at 8.30pm with music from 9-11pm. WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted admission.

"Two more from 'NSN' followed, another great Schorr vocal/Wilson solo on the Heavy Rock of 'Valentina', with Sari afterwards thanking both the crowd plus taking the opportunity to remind them that the band are also supporting King King at London's Koko on Thursday 7th February! Although the stand-out of the set for mine was 'Freedom', a mid-paced Rocker, with Fridzema's dexterity embellishing some killer vocal harmonies. It was back to 'AFON' though for the encore, with Sari not only mentioning their merch stand and introducing the band, but also amusingly trying to remember where they were from! Lead Belly's 'Black Betty' - with its unique arrangement, saw the chemistry between Wilson's cajun guitar opening and solo plus Schorr's vocal delivery - ultimately resulting in a very powerful version of this classic, before finishing with the familiar clunky opening riff of 'Aunt Hazel' - based on urban slang for heroin - with both Sari and Ash letting us have it with both barrels on this rocker. Suffice to say that this force of nature just gets stronger and stronger since we first encountered it just before Christmas 2015. Never say never - just make sure you catch the band at London's Koko on Thursday 7th February or alternatively at Twickenham's Eel Pie Club exactly a month later!" Check out today's Photo Gallery here from the third and final Francis Dunnery exclusive UK gig at London's Bush Hall last Sunday night. Following gigs at Wolverhampton's The Slade Rooms (see Track Of The Day) and Manchester Club Academy, Dunnery played with a full electric band performing songs from 'The Big Lad In The Windmill'. The guitar virtuoso and original It Bites front man, wearing his traditional white shirt signed by all his fans on the night, was also joined on a memorable evening by special guest Guthrie Govan (Asia/Steven Wilson), as they knocked out all the favourites including 'Calling All The Heroes', 'Underneath Your Pillow' and 'Still Too Young Too Remember'.

Phil and Tommy Goodwin, aka Cellar Door Moon Crow (CDMC) are bringing their unique Urban Rock flavour to the masses this year. Hailing from Sheffield, CDMC release their debut album 'You Got This' on Friday 5th April and to coincide with this, CDMC are playing a special showcase gig in London at The Black Heart, Camden, tonight. Featuring heavy beats with sick guitar and distorted vocals fused with a swirling organ and ivory keys, they mash it up, using pre-1970's Led Zeppelin-esque analogue flavours with a big slap of 1980’s Hip Hop Dr Dre style production. The 14 song strong beast of a release unravels the journey and evolution that has defined the Goodwin brothers as pioneers of their very own identifiable flamboyant sound.
