With just ten days to go to this year's Ramblin' Man Fair over the weekend of the 19th to 21st July at the glorious Mote Park in Maidstone, Piston (Video Of The Day) are the very last band to be voted on to this year's Rising Stage. Not only that, but the Cannock’s high-flyers have also been added to the bill for “Roadstars” – a hi-octane live extravaganza with Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin Stones and Gorilla Riot, that promises to be one of the hottest triple bill concert tours that includes London's O2 Academy Islington on Friday 11th October. Every night each band will alternate as headliners, giving them equal share of the limelight.

When the average fan thinks of hotbeds of the Blues, he or she thinks of cities like Chicago, Austin, and Memphis, and even such far-flung outposts as London and Paris. That’s all set to change, however, as red-hot Brazilian guitarist Big Gilson (Video Of The Day), a TopCat Records artist, is poised to put Rio de Janeiro on the Blues map tonight, with Blues Dynamite UK, at the Tuesday Night Music Club, The Comrades Club, Coulsdon CR5 2NF.

Explosive Swedish classic Heavy Metal five-piece Bullet (Video Of The Day) released their first ever live album, ‘Live’, on Steamhammer/SPV on Friday. The band were formed in Växjö in 2001 by vocalist Hell Hofer and guitarist Hampus Klang, and released their sixth studio album, ‘Dust To Gold’ in April 2018 to huge acclaim. Bullet’s incendiary live set has been keenly honed down from touring most European countries several times, opening for AC/DC in front of 55,000 people in 2009 and performing at some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals. Consisting also of Alexander Lyrbo (guitars), Gustav Hector (bass) and Gustav Hjortsjö (drums), 'Live’, contains a ‘best-of’ mix of Bullet’s exhilarating melodious Rock anthems.

At 2pm today, The Barcodes (Video Of The Day), featuring Alan Glen, take to the stage at another Blues At Barleylands, Barleylands Social Club, Barleylands Road, Billericay, Essex CM11 2UF. Consisting also of Bob Haddrell and Dino Coccia, Alan Glen is a British Blues harmonica player, best known for his work with The Yardbirds, Nine Below Zero, Little Axe, and his own bands, such as The Barcodes and The Incredible Blues Puppies.

Tonight, Rock and Roll band Accelerator return to the Hope and Anchor, 207 Upper Street N1 1RL, the iconic London home of Punk, and they’re feeling rambunctious. Consisting of Andrew Collinson, Philip Hope and Jason Speechly-Dick, expect much singing, plus original, thumpy, tuneful songs. Simply powerful, stripped down music to get things going, with a bit of Rock and Roll, Punk, New Wave, Garage, Psychobilly and whatever, thrown in for good measure.

"After the excellent opener ‘Animal Beat’ and the radio-friendly hook of the title track, ‘Rebel Heart’ sees Stapley mining a higher register (more akin to the sound of Foreigner perhaps) and we do get treated to a Marriott after all! On this track and the next pair, ‘The Bridge’ and ‘Whiskeyland’ (the latter of which features lead guitar by Ross McEwen), the strong backing vocals are provided by Steve’s daughter Mollie, whose contributions are instantly recognisable, even at this early stage in her career. ‘Rebel Heart’ and ‘The Bridge’ also feature some nice piano work by Richard Young." Today's Video Of The Day of Psychedelic-Blues renegades DeWolff, is the live video for fan favourite, 'Tombstone Child', taken from their new live record ‘Live & Outta Sight II,’ which was recorded over their 2018-19 tour of the Netherlands and released on Mascot Records last month. The band was formed in the Netherlands’ Deep South of Geleen, when they were barely teenagers in 2007 by brothers’ Pablo (singer/guitarist) and Luka van de Poel (drums) and Hammond organist Robin Piso. Following the release of 2018's ‘Thrust’ that crashed into the Dutch Top 10 Album Charts and the acclaim that followed, the band picked up the prestigious Dutch Edison Award for ‘Best Rock Album’ in February, which capped off an incredible nine months and saw the band play over 100 shows across 13 countries.

"But then the clincher: at the start of the second verse, Johnny shelves his mic, puts a familiar looking hat on the mic stand, and leaves the stage … to leave us with vintage Ronnie on the big screen, taking all of the second verse and break to the instrumental - perfectly synchronised old image, great quality Ronnie vocal (complete with “How bout you?“), and live performance of the music itself. The closing section is, as you’d expect, flawless…. monumental... epic… emotional – pick your own superlative; they all apply. And so, with waves and bows, the show was over, and after Birmingham on Sunday night, so is their presence on these shores. Farewell tours have been known to be false dawns (or should that be false sunsets?) before of course, but this felt, as billed, like a true farewell. I doubt we’ll see their like again." Swedish Metallers Tungsten recently released the title track of their forthcoming full length album 'We Will Rise' (today's Track of The Day) which will be available on Friday 20th September via Arising Empire. The band was formed in 2016 by drummer Anders Johansson (ex-Hammerfall), after his sons Karl and Nick had let him listen to some songs they had composed together. With drums (Anders), guitars (Nick), bass (Karl) and their newly composed songs, they asked Mike Andersson (Cloudscape) to do vocals, given both his powerful voice and varied style of singing which was a perfect fit to Tungsten's music.

Visionatica's second album, ‘Enigma Fire’ (see today's Video Of The Day), due to be released next Friday 12th July, marks the beginning of a new worldwide collaboration between the Nuremburg based act and Frontiers Music. Led by vocalist Tamara Amedov alongside guitarist Manuel Buhl, drummer Gerhard Spanner and bass player Tim Zahn, the German band first entered the Symphonic Metal scene in 2016 with their debut album ‘Force Of Luna’. With fantastic, crystal clear soprano vocals combined with powerful grooves, melodic guitars and orchestral elements, fans of bands such as Nightwish, Within Temptation, Delain and Xandria will find much to love here.
