Channeling modern Psychedelic Prog Rock with retro 70's nostalgia, Nordic favourites The Vintage Caravan release their fifth full-length studio album, 'Monuments', next Friday 16th April via Napalm Records, of which the opening track, 'Whispers', is today's Video Of The Day! Virtuosic inspired guitar ruminations encounter an irrefutable mixture of fresh elements and Psychedelic, Progressive and Blues Rock trademarks, radiating the soul of some larger-than-life bands of the past, as these youngbloods breathe new life into a classic formula. Indeed, after countless high-voltage live performances at festivals such as Roadburn, Wacken and Hellfest, plus touring with Opeth, Óskar Logi Ágústsson - lead vocals, electric guitar, Alexander Örn Númason - bass guitar and Stefán Ari Stefánsson - drums, demonstrate that they have matured both musically and lyrically - presenting the Icelandic band's very own potent mixture accented by bold, nostalgic nuance.

"But before I do, I get the 'luxury' of being 'allowed' into the VIP suite to watch a short acoustic set by the fabulous Bad Touch. The five piece are no stranger to festivals, or Ramblin' Man, having been working the circuits for years. Today's short set strips away their electric sound to show their Blues Rock in a more laid back style although with no less excitement. Vocalist Stevie Westwood doesn't seem to get phased by anything so opening day to a major festival is just another day for him and the band. They are writing more songs at the moment so expect a new album in the Spring next year. If it's as good as their last album - 'Shake A Leg' - it will be worth a listen." World-renowned guitar virtuoso, Joe Satriani (Video Of The Day), has again rescheduled his UK Shapeshifting tour until May next year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets for this year's tour will remain valid for the rescheduled 2022 dates. The rescheduled 6-date UK tour now kicks off at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, on Sunday 1st May and concludes at the Sage Hall 1, Gateshead, on Saturday 7th May. The live show will feature tracks from his latest studio album 'Shapeshifting', plus he will perform many of his classic fan favourites including 'Surfing With The Alien', 'Always with Me, Always with You' and 'Flying In A Blue Dream'. His touring band will feature celebrated drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty), bassist Bryan Beller (Aristocrats), keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc) and, of course, Joe on guitar.

"The crutch lying next to JD Simo on the Barfly dressing room floor was a mighty shock as we learnt during our pre-gig interview that JD had a "Dave Grohl moment" when he dislocated his knee on stage on the first leg (no pun intended) of SIMO's European tour in Paris three days earlier. The stock question of "how's the tour going so far?" met on this occasion with an incredulous answer!"
