  • Tarah Out For Blood 14/4/22

Known for their bold lyrics and exuberance, LA-based power duo, Tarah Who?, composed of Grunge-Punk sage Tarah Carpenter and drummer/backing vocalist Coralie Hervé, continue to flare up with their newest offering, ‘Asian Blood’, today's Video Of The Day, and a reflection that time doesn’t wait. This two-minute Rock production was inspired by the underground feminist Punk movement, Riot grrrl, that began during the early 1990s. Produced by Jason Orme (Alanis Morissette) and Tarah herself, ‘Asian Blood’ is about getting older and realising that the industry, whether music or movie, is unjust to artists (especially women) who sometimes feel the need to look younger to obtain a role.

  • Simply Benevento 13/4/22

This Summer, hallucinatory keyboard wizard Marco Benevento pulls back the curtain on his latest studio effort, simply titled, 'Benevento', that's due out on Friday 10th June on Royal Potato Family, of which the album's latest single, 'Marco & Mimo', which sets Afro-Caribbean melodic lines and sing-song, earworm vocals against the bump 'n' grind of Mamadouba 'Mimo' Camara's percussion, is today's Video Of The Day. The 11-track collection presents 40-minutes of small-batch Psychedelia, bubbled up from his home studio (Fred Short Studios) at the base of the Catskill Mountains in Woodstock, New York. Its title nods to Paul McCartney's first solo album and like Macca's eponymous release, Benevento is a similarly loose, low-key affair where song sketches and sunrise jams share space with more constructed tracks. Benevento plays all of the instruments with the exception of percussion from Camara and backing vocals by his wife and kids on a handful of songs.

  • Wily Bo Walker + The Vampirettes Review 12/4/22

"Hands up all of you that love a proper Rock pub? Who remembers the days of seeing The Stranglers at The Nashville, Thin Lizzy at The Greyhound or seeing The Hamsters at The Woodman? Indeed, it was great to be back at Camden's iconic Fiddler's Elbow last Friday night to see the enticing combination of The Wily Bo Walker Electric Band and The Vampirettes, even though it was a first for our photographer, Simon Green, who initially thought the gig was taking place at a namesake in Brighton! And despite a warm welcome from The Vampirettes Karena K at the door and a cheery smile from the bar staff, poor old Simon was not immediately impressed after he put down his pint of Elbow Grease to test the photo lighting, to then find his pint had disappeared! Time for another round, although the night would get much much better." Today AJ gives us his considered opinion today of the Wily Bo Walker Electric Band and The Vampirettes Fiddler's Elbow gig in Camden from last Friday night, plus check out our photos and our 'In A Broken Dream' Video Of The Day.
