  • Hitman At Half Moon Tonight 27/7/22

    Exactly five years after they played The Eel Pie Club in Twickenham, tonight The Hitman Blues Band, featuring the awesome New York City Horns, are at London's The Half Moon in Putney, and today's Video Of The Day was taken last night at Ramsgate's Red Arrow Music Club (pictured), part of their 13-date UK tour that finishes at Eastleigh's The Concorde Club this Sunday 31st July. Following on from their hugely successful UK tour last year, the recent release of their seventh album, ‘Not My Circus, Not My Monkey', has gained critical acclaim across the world, making not only the US Billboard Blues charts, but also the Top 5 on the IBBA UK Blues Radio charts. They're without doubt a unique band playing modern original Blues for the 21st century and inspired versions of Blues classics. If you saw them last year, then we're sure you will want to see them again. And if you haven't seen them before, then you really should make sure that you see them on this latest tour!

    Legendary leaders of Dark Symphonic Metal music, Within Temptation, recently released today's stunning Video Of The Day for their latest single, ‘Don’t Pray For Me’, that shows the band performing in a giant shrine, interspersed with surreal portraits and occult imagery. An anthem for pursuing one’s own destiny, it's their fourth single of independent releases, as the Dutch band has been busy in the studio writing and recording brand new songs for their forthcoming album, which they expect to release next year. Indeed, the remainder of 2022 will be filled with a European Summer festival season, a USA tour with Iron Maiden plus their co-headlining European tour with Evanescence in the Autumn.

Coincidentally, as well as being a brilliant photographer, Chris also administers Kingfish's Facebook fan page, so make sure you don't miss out when Kingfish returns this year to London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on Saturday 22nd October.

  • Illustr8tors Interview 24/7/22

    Following our Ramblin' Man Fair interview with Inglorious the previous day, exactly six years ago today it was time to take advantage of our weekend press passes again and conduct our second interview of the weekend, in beautiful Mote Park, Maidstone, with frontman Scott Sharp of The Illustr8tors (the band formerly known as Blackwolf), which is today's Podcast Of The Day. The band were performing on the Rising Stage later in the afternoon, so we were granted a quick five minute chat beforehand, with Scott explaining that this was basically a band relaunch, with interesting times ahead.

    Exactly two years ago today, The Revivalists performed a live NOLA Drive-In Livestream, but thankfully nowadays, live now means live, as last month our American correspondent, Rick Menniti, took in the guys at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater on Friday 10th June, describing the gig as a "fun venue and great show", as testified by today's Video Of The Day of their encore, a cover of The Who's 'Baba O'Riley'. In fact, this gig was also performed on the one year anniversary of the first of last year's two consecutive livestreamed gigs, under the stars at the very same venue, at a time when they had finally returned for their first shows back on the road in nearly a year.
