- The NeverEnding Story 30/11/22
With their debut album, 'Charm Offensive', released earlier this year to critical acclaim from press, media and music fans alike, and ahead of spreading their grit, glamour, emotion and possibly some glitter on a run of four UK live shows next month, with special guests glamorous rebel Punkster Nina Courson and her band, Healthy Junkies, plus delightfully eccentric Punks, Soho Dukes, including a Christmas Spectacular at London's The Water Rats on Tuesday 20th December, Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids have released a heart pounding cover version of the iconic 80s hit, 'The NeverEnding Story', accompanied by today's Video Of The Day. Filmed by Wills Audio at the famous Buckley Tivoli Theatre and transformed into a fun concept video with additional footage and editing by producer Darren Stockford, paying homage to that bombastic 80's era, the power trio consisting of Slyder (vocals/guitar), Tim Emery (bass) and Carl Donaghue (drums), boldly reimagine Giorgio Morodor’s 80s cult classic, whilst staying true to the original, bringing a dynamic commercial Rock feel to Limahl’s Electronic Pop hit, with guest vocals from the aforementioned Nina.

- Focus Beaverwood Review 29/11/22
"Of the four gigs I’ve had the pleasure to attend this year, I’d say this was (by a small margin) the best as far as I'm concerned (and not just because I didn’t have AJ telling how much he loves the 'Hamburger Concerto')... for a band of an already insanely high musical pedigree they seemed even tighter than usual and into it as much as the audience - arguably a little surprising as they must have been knackered, having only landed back on these shores the previous day for this brisk run of eight UK dates before a final pre-Christmas gig in The Netherlands and a well-earnt six weeks or so off the road." Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits 'Hocus Pocus' and 'House of The King', as well as critically acclaimed albums 'Moving Waves', 'Focus 3' and 'Hamburger Concerto', the iconic Dutch music masters Focus returned to Chislehurst's The Beaverwood last Tuesday, and today we not only have Mark C's complete take on the gig, but also some great photos plus our 'Sylvia' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night.
