  • Vote Now - Best Rock Performance 20/12/22

"A faultless performance from the Swedish act, featuring singer Guernica Mancini, Filippa Nassil on guitar, Mona ‘Demona’ Lindgren on bass and Emlee Johansson on drums. Easy to see why they have such a good percentage of UK Festivals ahead of them, including Newark's Stonedead and Great Yarmouth's Hard Rock Hell, as they will be a nailed-on crowd pleaser. File under "For Those Who Want to Rock!" Following their chart-topping new album, 'Black And Gold', and having just announced more European live dates with Scorpions, as well as headline gigs on their upcoming "Black And Gold Tour 2023", that was part of our take in April this year on Thundermother at London's The Underworld (see today's Video Of The Day), and the Swedish Heavy Rock queens are one of our nominees in our 2022 WRC Best Rock Performance award, along with Billy Idol, Russ Ballard and Blind Channel.

Today's latest 2022 WRC Award nominated Blues On The Radio Podcast Of The Day, starts and finishes with tracks from Kyla Brox, ahead of her sold out gig at Coulsdon's Tuesday Night Music Club tonight, with two further tracks from her acoustic support, and similarly nominated Brave Rival (pictured), plus there's a sad farewell to guitarist Kim Simmonds, with a track from Savoy Brown, a couple of new singles from Dani Wilde and Ged Wilson, two IBBA album tracks of the month from Trevor Babajack Steger and Larkin Poe, a push for their crowd funder with two tracks from The Cinelli Brothers, and finally two tunes from Darnell Cole and The Achievers ahead of their forthcoming shows at The TNMC.

  • Tuesday Rocks! 20/12/22

Established as intrepid pathfinders on the journey of classic Heavy Metal into the mystic, and given a turbulent two-year period following their triumphant third album, 'Opulent Decay', the fourth album from Spell, 'Tragic Magic', was released via Bad Omen Records at the end of October, which sees the Vancouver outfit honing their approach to seductive effect, such as 'Fever Dream', one of today's six of the best 'Tuesday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further forthcoming and recent releases from Void Chapter, Cthulhu Dreamt, Highway Queen, Redlight KIng and Forever Broken.

  • Vote Now - Video Of The Year 19/12/22

Ahead of their first visit since February 2020 to the UK/Ireland in June next year, plus four decades into their storied career, four-time GRAMMY® Award nominated, Goo Goo Dolls, are still discovering new and invigorating ways to make the most exciting music they’ve ever recorded, such as today's Video Of The Day, 'You Are The Answer', a melodic ballad that explores the experience of devoted love during times of difficulty, that was the second song to be taken from their thirteenth studio album, 'Chaos in Bloom', released via Warner Records in August, and is also one of six nominees in our 2022 WRC Video Of The Year award. • Christmas Rocks! 19/12/22

Taken from their international award-winning album, 'Who I Might Be', both Destiny Band Oz's festive season single, 'It's the Gift', plus a recorded Christmas message, are both part of today's 'Christmas Rocks!' • Kim Simmonds 18/12/22

"Kim leads the band with his trusty Gibson 335 and Fender DeVille amp. Over his playing career he has played Teles Les Pauls, SG’s and Flying V’s but the hollowbody suits tonight’s Bluesier show. Held vertically in the wrinkled septuagenarians firm grasp, white locks flowing, the growl of the humbuckers match the growl of Kim’s voice. The pleasing growl of a seasoned vocalist." That was part of our glowing take on Savoy Brown, just under three years ago at Chislehurst's The Beaverwood in January 2020 (pictured), and very sadly this Tuesday 13th December, Kim Simmonds, founding member, guitarist, and vocalist, passed away at the age of 75, and in tribute, today's Video Of The Day of the band's BBC Sessions (1968, 1970, 1971) is dedicated in Kim's memory.

  • Big Christmas One Tonight 18/12/22

Following their blistering set opening this year's WRC award nominated A New Day Festival in Faversham back in August, unfortunately Blues Rock outfit Big River had to postpone their Leo's Red Lion gig last month, however, their 'Big Christmas One' with special guests Gianni Scalera and The Jury plus Isabella Coulstock, takes place tonight at that very same Gravesend venue, and for today's Podcast Of The Day we go back to that showery Summer's day when we had a quick chat backstage with vocalist Adam Barron and guitarist Damo Fawsett, discussing all things Big River, on the very same day they released their latest EP, 'Beautiful Trauma'. To help those less fortunate over the Christmas period, the band will also be accepting tonight donations (food/toiletries) for the local food bank run by ‘Hive Hope’. To vote in our 2022 WRC awards, simply go here https://www.wrinklyrockersclub.com/2022-wrc-awards-voting and hit the vote button.
