  • Vote Now - Best Blues Rock 23/12/22

"The future is bright for Kingfish, and he’ll be returning to our shores in 2023. He is currently one of the best Blues artists (and one of the best guitarists) that you’re yet to see. The man does not miss a note. He doesn’t strain his voice or waiver from his songs given the ever-changing arrangements between shows. Make sure you are there to see him and have a listen to the first album ‘Kingfish’ and sophomore album ‘662’ to be ready. This kid is a sensation, and we can’t afford to be left behind." That was part of our take when we reviewed Christone “Kingfish” Ingram at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire in October (pictured/Video Of The Day) and consequently "Kingfish" is also one our nominees in our Best Blues Rock category in our 2022 WRC Awards, along with Kaz Hawkins, The Cinelli Brothers and Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse. Next year on Friday 20th January, Go Down Records release a new instalment of "Live at Maximum Festival" with a fiery performance from Rock, Punk, Garage outfit, The Devils, a glorious conclusion to the first post-pandemic edition of the festival by the duo from Naples, that embodies the ultimate sound of chaos; with their primitive style, loaded with sex, sin and Rock’n’Roll, of which the track, 'Life Is A Bitch', is not only the first song to be released from the forthcoming album, but it's also one of today's six of the best 'Christmas Eve Eve Rocks!' • Terry Hall/Martin Duffy 21/12/22

The Specials 'Ghost Town' was undoubtedly one of the soundtracks to our adolescence, so to learn on Monday of Terry Hall's death at 63 was a complete shock, further compounded by news yesterday of Primal Scream keyboardist Martin Duffy's passing at just 55, so today we go back to July 2006 and London's Hyde Park Calling where we were right down the front, stage left, for Primal Scream's energetic set, and we therefore dedicate today's Video Of The Day in both Martin and Terry's memory.

  • Vote Now - Best Rock Performance 20/12/22

"A faultless performance from the Swedish act, featuring singer Guernica Mancini, Filippa Nassil on guitar, Mona ‘Demona’ Lindgren on bass and Emlee Johansson on drums. Easy to see why they have such a good percentage of UK Festivals ahead of them, including Newark's Stonedead and Great Yarmouth's Hard Rock Hell, as they will be a nailed-on crowd pleaser. File under "For Those Who Want to Rock!" Following their chart-topping new album, 'Black And Gold', and having just announced more European live dates with Scorpions, as well as headline gigs on their upcoming "Black And Gold Tour 2023", that was part of our take in April this year on Thundermother at London's The Underworld (see today's Video Of The Day), and the Swedish Heavy Rock queens are one of our nominees in our 2022 WRC Best Rock Performance award, along with Billy Idol, Russ Ballard and Blind Channel.

  • Tuesday Rocks! 20/12/22

Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further forthcoming and recent releases from Void Chapter, Cthulhu Dreamt, Highway Queen, Redlight KIng and Forever Broken.
