    JOANovARC rocked The Borderline in London last night at the official label launch party of their new single 'White Trash' due to be released on Friday 10th June. The excellent Lilith And The Knight and Fire Red Empress were also on the bill so watch out shortly for a review and some pics - but in the meantime check out todays Vid Of The Day!

Gritted teeth ode to the working class 'A Design For Life' arrives straight after James Dean Bradfield plays the rest of the band onto the stage with 'Elvis Impersonator: Blackpool Pier', rousing the crowd to their feet in an instant."     According to Route 66 host Rory Auskerry - it would appear that Van Halen knew about the Panama tax haven back in the mid-1980’s when they were writing material for their 1984 album! Consequently today's Track Of The Day starts with the rockin' hit 'Panama' plus there are new tracks from Steve Hill, SIMO (pictured), Robert Hill and Broken Witt Rebels plus classic tunes from Deep Purple, ZZ Top and Little Feat. Rory also take a look through this week’s music news and celebrate the birthdays this week of Marc Ford (Black Crowes) and Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple).

  • Aidan Connell At BATW Tonight! 14/4/16

    'Blues at The Woodlands' at the Woodlands Academy, Woodlands Road, Gillingham ME7 2DU returns tonight with Aidan Connell. Aidan is a 21st century Bluesman and singer songwriter who has been hailed as the saviour of contemporary British Blues. His live performances have been praised by music legends including Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr. and Seasick Steve. Connell is influenced by Blues icons such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, combining Blues swagger with well crafted songwriting and guitar virtuosity which reinterprets the well worn Blues genre with a fresh approach and much needed urgency. Tickets are £10 and doors open at 7pm.     Our mates Geoff Carne & The Hatz (our Vid Of The Day) are holding an acoustic launch party for their new album 'Get Close' at the George IV, 185 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London W4 2DR from 6-9pm tonight. The West London based duo consisting of Geoff Carne (back from his tour down under on guitar and vocals) and Mick Hatz (drums and percussion), are putting a fresh new feel on the Rock/Blues genre with their exciting original material (with a couple of covers). See you there!

    And talking of BluesRockFest - our 2016 Earlybird Tickets which are on sale now for a limited time here for £15 (instead of £20) are flying out the door! Beware - once they've gone - they've gone! As exclusively revealed on New Year's Day - The Stevie Nimmo Trio (part of The Nimmo Brothers who won 'Best Band' at the 2015 British Blues Awards) are headlining this year's festival at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend, on Saturday 24th September. There are (so far) 7 top Rock and Blues acts from around the UK planned and of course WRC Members only pay £15 - so why not head off here to sign up for free.   • Shooter For Xmas!! 24/11/15

    Our mates Shooter last Sunday announced their new Xmas single 'Xmas Time’s a Time to Rock' was available on pre-order from i-Tunes and Amazon for release on Thursday 17th December. It’s a been a busy year for them with a bunch of cracking festivals, the release of their critically acclaimed single 'Turn It Up' at the beginning of the year and the release of their debut album 'Recycled Teenagers' in September with an outstanding launch gig at the Half Moon in Putney. The guys hope that 'Xmas Time’s a Time to Rock' will become the de facto Rock record for Xmas and have produced a fun video to share with you here. So please play the song, spread the word and hopefully on the 18th December the UK will have a Rock record at No 1 for Xmas!
