Not only did WTSF go with Replicants lead guitarist Stu O'Brien (hope your head is better now Stu) but a few days later he also went to see Foreigner at the London Palladium - check out his excellent pics here.

  • British Blues Exhibition Live - Review 21/3/16

"One of British Blues very finest acts was Cream - Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce. Their famous and iconic songs were co-written by Pete Brown, and Pete put the stamp of history on the night as well as producing a very fine musical performance. Belying his years, Pete sang with fire and humour, including songs from his personal musical repertoire, but fittingly closing the evening with 'White Room' and 'Sunshine Of Your Love'. Pleasingly, a member of Jack Bruce's family was present and said it was "...a fab night. I enjoyed myself in what was a fun entertaining show." Read the rest of Darren Weale's review here, see our photo gallery here plus check out our amazing Vid Of The Day!

  • "He's Awesome" 10/2/16

When an ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist tweets - you have to sit up and listen! So when Skinny Molly's Mike Estes tweeted the WRC yesterday about former Bad Company guitarist Dave 'Bucket' Colwell - "he's awesome" - we thought it was worth reminding you that Bucket is appearing this Saturday at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend! Don't forget that as a special deal for his fellow Blues and Rock fans, our old mucker Damo Fawsett is offering discounted tickets to WRC members to this 3G event with both Damo's band Big River plus the excellent Salvation Jayne as support. Discounted £6 tickets or two for £10 can be purchased by directly e-mailing damey74@live.co.uk

  • Introducing .... Midnight Blues Train 13 March 2015

It's always nice when the WRC get some good feeback such as the recent tweet we got from Phillip Foxley - "Hey guys thanks for including me on your 'Introducing ...' page. I'm in great company with these great artists/ bands!" Keith Howe of Blacktop Deluxe has also been in touch - "Love your work guys" - so it was also good to hear from Keith's mate Pete Lovett and his band Midnight Blues Train - our 'Track Of The Day' and the latest band in our 'Introducing ...' feature. Midnight Blues Train play Powerhouse Blues Rock - a blend of originals and covers, inspired by Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Led Zeppelin, Gary Moore, ZZ Top, Free, Etta James, Humble Pie and other Blues giants!

  • Leogun Skynyrd! 6 March 2015

We didn't really want to say we told you so but the WRC actually did tell you at the end of 2013! Namely Leogun - a three-piece band from South East London, surging with a mix of blues, soul and a whole lotta Rock and Roll - were nominated in not one but two 2013 Award categories - Best Rock Performance plus One's To Watch. Now just over a year later they are supporting American Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd no less at the Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday 23rd April. Appropriately our 'Video Of The Day' is the first time we say them in their 'manor' in the Summer of 2013. Well done guys - look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!

  • Virgil & The Accelerators Go Mentull! 7 March 2015

  • The Night Gary Called Us C**t's! 27 Feb 2015

Sam Kelly's brilliant anecdotes on Richard Dunning's recent Blues On The Radio podcast - and in particular re: the late great Gary Moore - reminded us all of Gary's gig at Charlotte Street Blues in London on 6th April 2010. It was a last minute gig at an intimate setting and not only were the WRC lucky to get tickets but we also managed to get right up and close to the great man himself. Gary opened with 'Oh Pretty Woman' and immediately a few of us down the front made the most of our advantageous position by taking a few pics. Unfortunately, Mr. Moore took exception to this after 'OPW' in warning us - "You c**t's taking pictures better have a licence!" At this point - to a man - and with discretion being the better part of valour - we all decided to put our cameras away. Anyway one guy kept his video running - hence our awesome 'VOTD' - and if you look closely towards the left of the stage you can spot Wrinkly and AJ at the front! And finally - one of the pics AJ did manage to take - adorned our official WRC t-shirt as a tribute to Gary when he tragically died the following year.

  • Oscar Winning Ryan Bingham Up Next! 28 Jan 2015

Well the WRC gig rollercoaster is now well and truly on the move and next up is Academy Award winner Ryan Bingham at a sold out Borderline next Monday. The WRC originally saw Ryan with his band The Dead Horses at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park in June 2011 and were blown away. Needless to say we didn't hesitate to purchase tickets once the gig was announced. If you are going as well then please let us know :-)
