Tedeschi Trucks, with Jimmy Vaughn and Billy Gibbons joining, with horns and back up singers - counted over 12 people on stage - was a 2016 Jazz Fest highlight. Caught the last few songs of Elvis Costello, including 'Pump It Up', to end the day. All in all a wet but good day." Albany Down will release their third studio album 'The Outer Reach' on Friday 10th June. The London-based outfit played both BluesRockFest and our Xmas Bash last year and are a contemporary Rock band with influences ranging from classic acts like Led Zeppelin and Thunder to modern bands such as The Black Keys and Clutch. The band features Paul Muir on vocals, 2015 WRC Award winning guitarist Paul Turley, drummer Donna Peters and bassist Billy Dedman. The album was recorded at Modern World Studios and features 11 original songs, and was recorded by award-winning producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, INME, Super Furry Animals). The guys begin their UK tour on Friday 6th May.

The guys are playing both the Holland Sports Club in Hurst Green on Saturday 9th April and The Jolly Farmers in Purley on Friday 15th April. Keep your contributions coming!

AC/DC (Vid Of The Day) says it has been forced to reschedule the 10 final dates on the U.S. leg of its 'Rock or Bust' World Tour, because lead singer Brian Johnson has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately. The postponements were announced in a statement that said Johnson risked “total hearing loss” if he didn’t take a break. It did not give further details. The shows “likely will be made up later in the year, likely with a guest vocalist,” the statement said. With the WRC due to see them at the Olympic Park, London on Saturday 4th June - it brings back bad memories of last year's Foo Fighters cancellation as a result of Dave Grohl's broken leg. Doh!

Canadian roots-rockers The Bros. Landreth, recently nominated for International Artist Of The Year by Americana Music Association, continued their UK tour at The Garage, Highbury, last night, following the release of their 11 song debut album 'Let It Lie' on Slate Creek. The band's sound is anchored by the Bluesy wail of electric guitars, the swell of B3 organ, and the blood harmonies of brothers Joey and David Landreth. 'Let It Lie' has already won The Roots & Traditional Album Of The Year in 2015 and was recorded in a straw bale house in Southern Manitoba, during one of the coldest winters in recent memory! Working with producer Murray Pulver, The Bros. Landreth found warmth in the songs that Joey and David had written at home, brewing up an earthy, earnest sound that has since drawn comparisons to The Band, The Allman Brothers and Jackson Browne. Anyway, watch out over the coming days for more pics, a vid and a review of last night's gig.

Amongst WRC friends we bumped into over a memorable weekend were Replicants guitarist Steve Hesmondhalgh, Leo's Red Lion Mein Host Terry Lee, Geoff Carne of The Hatz, ex-Bad Company guitarist Dave 'Bucket' Colwell and MJC Boss Nicola Bowden. It was also good to hear from WRC member Rob "Did you catch Pat McManus in the Blues tent? What a gem! To my shame I have never heard this man play before yesterday. As the man said "I was born between Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore... so I was ****ed!" Wasted at the early performance, could have closed the main stage in my opinion. Great festival and the sun smiled!" We couldn't agree more Rob!

Tonight at Twickenham's famous Eel Pie Club at The Patch, 67 London Road TW1 3SZ at 9.15pm, there will be a coming together on one stage of 5 great musicians who are collectively known as The Good Old Boys. Originally formed as a vehicle to play live Rock 'n' Blues whenever the members were free from touring with their own bands, they have now became so popular that they are a busy touring band in their own right. Consisting of Nick Simper (currently with Deep Purple), Peter Parks, Alan Barratt, Simon Bishop and Richard Hudston, the band members have played with or alongside Johnny Kidd & The Pirates, BB King, Simple Minds, Cliff Bennett & The Rebelrousers, The Tremeloes and The Strawbs. Was It really two years ago this month since the very first gig at the Tuesday Night Music Club to see if people wanted live music in North Surrey/South London? Teenage guitar sensation Aaron Keylock will release his highly anticipated debut single 'Against The Grain' (Vid Of The Day) on Thursday 6th October. Already a road warrior, he has been gigging heavily since the age of 11, playing over 200 shows including the Jazz Café, Alexandra Palace and Shepherds Bush Empire and he has supported Blackberry Smoke, The Answer, The Graveltones and The Cadillac Three. The last time we caught Aaron was at Ramblin' Man last year (pictured) and he is on tour from October to December with Wilko Johnson, Joanne Shaw Taylor and for the Planet Rock Roadstars tour with SIMO and Federal Charm - which we will be attending!

Texas guitar legend Eric Johnson (Track Of The Day) releases his first all-acoustic solo album on Friday 7th October. Long hailed as one of the world's preeminent electric guitarists, Eric celebrates his acoustic side with EJ, his 12th album. Emphasising Johnson's formidable skills as a singer-songwriter, his first completely unplugged album is also his most immediate and intimate. Johnson self-produced the album and performed nine of its thirteen tracks unaccompanied in his Austin, Texas Saucer Sound studio. The other tracks feature guest musicians such as renowned guitarist Doyle Dykes, violinist Molly Emerman, cellist John Hagen, and longtime Johnson accompanists Tommy Taylor and Wayne Salzmann on drums and Roscoe Beck and Chris Maresh on acoustic bass.
