'Introducing ....' is back! Our Vid Of The Day is Paul Hegley - a singer and songwriter from Bedfordshire. His Blues-influenced music seems to leap from the shadows of the greats, with a gritty edge, haunting tones coupled with a poetic lyrical flair. Musically he’s at home with his Gibson guitar and vintage amps, drawing influence from hallowed greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, and Robert Johnson, right through to modern day hero’s such as Jack White, Gary Clark Jnr. and The Black Keys. The Paul Hegley Band are an exciting new Blues band, notable for their incendiary Blues Rock style plus packing a huge punch with an electric live show and haunting tone!

Malcolm & Jim at The Blues Club also kindly sponsored WRC Award winnersLittle Devils' set at BluesRockfest and consequently they featured them in their latest podcast which is today's Track Of The Day!

"Diamond Head’s current tour is timed to promote their latest album, ‘Diamond Head’, the band’s seventh studio album, but first for ten years. Their set included five songs from the new album. For many bands this would have given their audience a chance to relax, or visit the bar, while waiting for the next familiar number. This was definitely not so for Diamond Head: although tinged with a modern rock feel, the new songs fitted seamlessly into the rest of the set, holding onto the recognizable sound that is unmistakeably Diamond Head. One of them, ‘Shout at the Devil’ was even saved for the encore. It had a pronounced riff and memorable chorus line: despite its unfamiliarity, the audience were soon clapping and singing along. However my favourite of the five was ‘Diamonds’, with a great introduction and superb riffs. As the song’s chorus says, “Diamonds are forever” and, if they continue to maintain the standard of this evening’s performance, so are Diamond Head!" "The playlist was well thought out, with the more the gentile tracks of 'Someday' for example punctuating some of the heavier stuff, working the audience (who were lapping it up by this stage) through the various ranges of tempo that Nickelback offer. I particularly enjoyed 'Too Bad' which served to remind me of just how many good tracks this band has released over the years. 'Rockstar' predictably went down with the audience as you would expect!! Chad & Co continued to entertain the crowd throughout the evening, occasionally enjoying a pint on stage and enlightening us with their ever colourful tapestry of language. Fuel, quite literally, was poured on the fire as the occasional pint was launched into the ever gracious mosh pit down below!" That was Matt McCarthy's take on Nickelback at London's O2 Arena four years ago (pictured) and we will be there to see them again tonight - supported by the awesome Monster Truck (today's Vid Of The Day).

"I have to say I thought The British Pink Floyd did an absolutely stunningly first class job. Not only were they brilliant musicians but had obviously spent an awfully long time learning how to play the songs exactly as Pink Floyd had written but, both guitarists must have spent years perfecting Gilmour’s very own inimitable style of guitar playing. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance; the sound quality was superb but the sheer quality and authenticity of their performance did themselves proud. A very great performance from a superbly brilliant and accomplished band of musicians. If I was either Roger Waters or Dave Gilmour I would warmly congratulate The British Pink Floyd and a job very well done. To call them a tribute band really does not do them justice at all – they were superb." That was Phil Thornton's take on Brit Floyd at the RAH over five years ago and we are back there again tonight hopefully for more of the same!

UK Rock trio RavenEye have unleashed a new video for the song 'Madeline' - which is the third track they’ve made available from their debut album NOVA released last Friday via Frontiers srl. By the time he was 25 singer/guitarist Oli Brown had been hailed by Mojo as “the hottest young pistol in British Blues”, released four solo albums and toured the world for 10 years with legends such as Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy. Two years ago he gave all that up for the love of Rock and RavenEye was born! Now boasting Aaron Spiers on bass and with a new drummer in place – 21 year old Adam Breeze - the band are set to take 2016 by storm. The band also embark on a UK tour next month including Leos Red Lion, Gravesend on Friday 18th November.

We turn the clock back today to BluesFest 2014 for our Vid Of The Day - for one of the highlights of the day - when headliner Aynsley Lister jammed with both Andrew Pipe from The Mentulls (who are back again at BluesRockFest this year) and Damo Fawsett. British guitarist and singer-songwriter Aynsley is also the special guest on the Route 66 Radio Show here tonight at 6pm where he joins host Rory Auskerry for a chat ahead of the release of his 8th studio album 'Eyes Wide Open'.

The Mission release their new album, 'Another Fall From Grace' on Friday 30th Septembe which is produced by Wayne Hussey and Tim Palmer and features guest backing vocals from Gary Numan, Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Ville Valo (HIM), Julianne Regan (All About Eve) & Evi Vine. Hussey calls this album “the lost link between The Sisters Of Mercy ‘First And Last And Always’ and The Mission’s ‘God's Own Medicine’” - so feast your eyes now on our Track Of The Day - the gloriously melodramatic 'Met-Amor-Phosis', the first single from the album - full of swagger and bombast. To celebrate both the album and their 30th anniversary, The Mission set out on their most extensive and ambitious tour since they reformed in 2011, with special guests Peter Murphy, The 69 Eyes, and The Awakening supporting them in the UK.

Recorded on a beautiful Summer's evening setting of The Bulls Head by the Thames in Barnes, our July Wrinklycast interview (and today's Track Of The Day) welcomed Toronto based Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Chris Antonik to London twelve days ago. Halfway through his debut UK tour, an intimate setting contrasted with Chris's appearance at The Upton Blues Festival the previous weekend. A rising star of the vibrant Canadian Blues scene, listen to amongst other things, Chris discuss the financial reality of touring as an independent artist, his influences of Dylan, Cale and compatriot Cohen, and his excitement and the ambition behind his new album due out in 2017.
