GT’s Boos Band is a no-holds barred electric Blues Rock band from central Scotland led by frontman Greig Taylor and lead guitarist John Boos. Hooking up after a jam in late 2010 the duo embarked upon building the GT’s Boos Band electric Blues project, whilst also performing an acoustic show throughout Scotland. The duo added experienced bassist David Atkinson and drummer Stephen Coetzee to complete the line-up and provide the driving groove behind the Boos Band electric sound. The band is also joined by harmonica ace Jim Harcus from Wang Dang Delta on many of the song's on their critically acclaimed debut album 'Steak House'. "BlueBird took me back to Hyde Park 2011 when the Dead Horses packed a punch with their electric guitars and keys - suffice to say this rocked and went down well with the WRC beside me! Ryan's harmonica heralded Junky Star's beautiful 'The Poet' - the audience hanging on tightly on this emotional roller coaster of a set. Bingham's voice to die for - was again perfectly illustrated on 'Hallelujah' - yet another stand out track from 'Junky Star' - which understandably charted in the US in 2010. FASN's 'Adventures Of You and Me', 'My Diamond Is Too Rough' and the "Dylanesque" 'Broken Heart Tatoos' were a microcosm of the contrasting Americana Roots Rock genres in the set although the delicious 'Southside Of Heaven' managed to combine all these musical elements culminating in a wonderful jam with Bingham, Sproul and Bowden stepping up to the railway plate." Mud Morganfield, eldest son of the King of the Blues, Muddy Waters, will be celebrating his father's centenary at The Eel Pie Club, The Patch, 67 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ tonight. Mud delivers his charismatic Chicago Blues of the highest order to audiences around the world and has released a new album 'For Pops', where he is joined by Fabulous Thunderbirds frontman, Kim Wilson. The album was a winner at the 2015 Blues Music Awards, winning the Traditional Blues Album category. Morganfield looks and sounds strikingly like his father although he also has his very own Mojo working and is blessed not only with a big and powerful voice but also a natural sense of showmanship that ensures that audiences fall into the palm of his hand. His sets consist of Muddy Waters classics and his own original material and he has shared the stage and gained the respect of many of his Dad's ex-sidemen and Chicago Blues superstars, including Buddy Guy, Eddie Clearwater, Jimmie Johnson and Mojo Burford to name a few. Tickets (if still available) are £17 cash on the door with doors opening at 8.30pm and music from 9:15pm.

Crobot (our Video Of The Day) and Scorpion Child have been added as support to Heaven's Basement Southampton show at the Engine Rooms on Thursday 3rd December. The WRC first saw Heaven's Basement at the Calling Festival on Clapham Common last year but before Southampton the Nuclear Blast riffing label mates will be touring the UK throughout November and December on their 'Invasive Species Tour' starting in London at The Underworld on Friday 6th November. Do not miss them!

Taking of band sponsors - The Blues Club did the WRC proud last Wednesday night with their latest broadcast which included all six of our BluesRockfest bands including their own sponsored band Little Devils! Not only that but today's Track of The Day also includes former BluesFest bands Aynsley Lister and The Mentulls!

We continue our Ramblin' Man countdown with a tough call as to who to see after first band Blues Pills. The WRC nod goes to Ian Siegal (Vid Of The Day) who is on the Blues Stage at 2pm although this does mean we can catch the end of Knifeworld's set as we head over to the Prog Stage afterwards! Decisions! Decisions! Anyway, Siegal is a multiple British Blues Awards winner with consecutive nominations in 2012 and 2013 for Contemporary Album of The Year. From one gig to the next, he might be a solo acoustic performer or a blood-and-thunder bandleader. Siegal is known as a Bluesman, but it’s just one shade in the palette of an artist who slips between continents, eras and expectations!
