  • Scorpions Return To Forever! 3 March 2015

    When the Scorpions announced their retirement way back in 2010, neither Germany's biggest selling band (100 million records world-wide) or their fans would never have dreamed they would still be here in 2015 celebrating their fiftieth anniversary writes Wrinkly The Silver! Better still was the news of a new nineteenth Scorpions studio album, Return To Forever to be released. It all started with the band planning on re-recording eight songs for a fan only release - but new material was written in the studio so eight songs turned into a whopping nineteen! Twelve songs have made the cut to the standard format and seventeen to the deluxe edition.So much for going for a pension !! Anyway read WTS's informed take on their new CD here!

    Since the launch of the new website we have had so many bands contact us re: their music that we have now dedicated a new website page simply called 'Introducing ......'. Enrico Cipollin, lead singer and guitarist of the Italian Blues Rock band Underground Railroad is one of those such bands and we are delighted to feature the excellent 'It Takes The Devil' from their album 'Growing Three' as our 'Track Of The Day'.   • LastMinuteBandz: Dronningen 31/12/15

    Dronningen are a 5-member electro-rock assault squad based in London. A blend of distorted guitar riffs and psycho synths, with the ultimate aim of making you dance. Formed in August 2014, the band has been playing many shows planning to release their debut EP anytime now. Check out their LastMinuteBandz page here plus today's Track Of The Day.

  • 2015 WRC Awards 'Best Support' - The Replicants 10/1/16

    Given that Replicants guitarist Stu O'Brien has been such a pain over the last week or so enquiring who's won our 2015 'Best Support' award - we decided to let Stu stew so to speak! Well the good news is that indeed The Replicants have landed the prize - principally due to their outstanding set at Wrinklystock IV supporting T.Rextasy. Let's not forget the other nominees - namely Born Healer and The Rainbreakers - who both supported the legendary Corky Laing at the 100 Club in November. Watch out for footage of The Replicants in action at Wrinklystock IV soon but in the meantime see our Vid Of The Day as we turn the clock back to Wrinklystock III when the guys supported The Bohemians!

  • 2015 WRC Awards 'Best Rock' - Nazareth 11/1/16

    Our eleventh and final 2015 WRC Award Winner announced today is Nazareth who have won our 'Best Rock Performance' following their performance at London's Brooklyn Bowl in September. Check out our Vid Of The Day to see how the guys fought off the challenge of other respected nominees Crobot (Underworld November) and Shooter (Half Moon September). The WRC would like to take this opportunity of thanking all of you that took the time to vote - and even if you may ultimately disagree with some of the voting - rest assured that live music will always be the winner!

    We know most of our attention is on Christmas at the moment but why not treat yourself to an early present and book your place at the first big gig of the year to see the legend that is John Verity rock Leos Red Lion in Gravesend on Saturday 23rd January.   • Who Do You Want At Wrinklystock 5? 23/11/15

    Time never stands still at The WRC - given we posed the question at Wrinklystock IV in both the official programme and on the brilliant theatre backdrops (pictured) - which tribute would you like to see at Wrinklystock 5? Suggestions on the night included Aerosmith, Status Quo, AC/DC and The Kinks. Although one thing was for certain - everyone wanted to see The Replicants return next year.   • Just 4 Days Till WRC Xmas Bash! 29/11/15

    Yet another shameless plug - but it's just 4 days to go now till the WRC Xmas Party where Albany Down and Southbound will be getting ready to rock the iconic Horn in St. Albans. So if you want to start your Xmas festivities off with a bang on Wednesday 2nd December - then this is the place to be!   • Reaching For The Light! 12/11/15

    King King have recently received critical acclaim for their current album 'Reaching For The Light' and have been nominated 'Best New Band' at this year’s Classic Rock Awards. On Monday night they also called in at London’s Maida Vale Studios to record a session for BBC Radio 2’s The Paul Jones Blues Show. So the WRC decided to head on down last night to the Islington O2 Academy to see what all the fuss is about plus the bonus of seeing special guest Ben Poole (pictured by John Bull last night) as support! Watch out tomorrow for a review and pics but in the meantime take a gander at our live Vid Of The Day from last night's gig!

  • Tavern To Rock Out Tonight! 14/11/15

    Run For Cover and their alter ego Glamstar play their first gig under the WRC banner at The Railway Tavern in Longfield, Kent, tonight. These guys are obviously not a one trick pony with Classic Rock and 70's Glamrock all in one night and we can tell you that they rock!! The action starts at 9pm - so do yourself a favour and get down there and support live music!!

  • Bernie At The Stables Tonight! 23 September 2015

    Following his stand-out performance at 'Ramblin Man' (pictured), guitar legend Bernie Marsden (our Track Of The Day) is currently on a UK Tour to promote his latest solo album ‘Shine’ as well as playing some of his greatest hits. Tonight Bernie will be calling in at The Stables, Milton Keynes and although he was right to be wary of flooding the credits with too many special guests, ‘Shine’ does feature some extremely well-known names, from Joe Bonamassa to Whitesnake mucker and singer David Coverdale plus the Deep Purple duo of Ian Paice (drums) and Don Airey (keyboards)!
