Richard Dunning's Blues On The Radio guest, live in the Croydon Radio studio here at 5pm tonight is Rosco Levee. Rosco will be having a chat and playing some of his favourite music ahead of his solo show at The Tuesday Night Music Club, at the Hooley Village Club, St. Margaret's Road, Hooley Village, Coulsdon, Surrey, CR5 3RB. Joel Hoekstra released on Friday his new melodic hard rock studio album 'Dying To Live' from his electrifying new side project 'Joel Hoekstra's 13'. Hoekstra is best known to rock fans as the current guitarist for Whitesnake and also known for his work with Night Ranger, Trans Siberian Orchestra and the show 'Rock of Ages'. 'Dying To Live' features an all-star cast of rockers including Jeff Scott Soto (vocals), Russell Allen (vocals), Tony Franklin (bass), Vinny Appice (drums) and Derek Sherinian (keyboards) and can be purchased here. Matt Edwards (pic courtesy of Vanessa Champion), is an independent songwriter/vocalist/guitarist playing original Blues Rock. He released his second album ‘Four Berry Jam’ on digital and physical formats in May of this year and is regularly gigging with his live trio the ‘Matt Edwards Band’ (our Vid Of The Day). The band is powerful, passionate, full of groove and has had a track featured on the cover CD of The Blues Magazine and have received a host of radio plays and some very humbling and kind reviews! The band played the Tuesday Blues at The 100 Club in April, Reivers Rock and Blues Festival in May and have supported some great artists recently such as Ryan McGarvey, Buddy Whittington, RavenEye, Ron Sayer, Erja Lyytinen plus former BluesFest headliner Aynsley Lister. All roads lead to The Red Lion, Gravesend, Kent DA11 9AA, tonight to see Loose Moorings and Southbound on stage at 8pm. Loose Moorings return to The Red Lion following their impressive set supporting Virgil And The Accelerators at the beginning of May. Meanwhile Southbound have stepped in to replace Larry Miller following their gig with BluesRockfest's Troy Redfern Band at the iconic 100 Club on Tuesday. Admission on the door is £6 and WRC members should get 15% off on production of a valid WRC members card!

A little birdie tells us a certain WRC Who/Quadrophenia fanatic was handed keys to hotel room 515 during our Punk weekend in Brighton recently. You couldn't make it up! Anyway, as usual there's no let up in the WRC itinerary as tonight we take in Classic Quadrophenia with Pete Townshend and Alfie Boe at The Royal Albert Hall!

Talking of Punk - Slide guitarist and songwriter Dave Arcari’s (Vid Of The Day) alternative Blues sounds owe as much to trash Country, Punk and Rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta Blues and have been showcased via eight internationally-acclaimed solo CD releases. Tonight Dave joins Richard Dunning for Blues On The Radio tonight here at 5pm in the Croydon Radio studio for a very special show, ahead of his appearance at The Tuesday Night Music Club in St. Margaret's Road, Coulsdon, Surrey CR5 3RB at 8.30pm. Dave will be selecting some of the songs that have influenced him, chatting about his career to date and may even break out the guitar to treat you to some live songs. And of course Richard will also squeeze in during the two hours some of the latest and greatest releases from around the world as well as playing the Independent Blues Broadcasters Associations picks of the month for June.

The launch of the Blackfen TRADER just under 22 years ago gave the opportunity to feed the passion of two lifelong friends to cut their teeth in music journalism, reviewing local gigs, particularly at The Woodman in Blackfen, in their monthly ‘Caught Live’ column. And ever since that non-internet era their mutual appreciation of live music has not ebbed and has metamorphosed into a growing musical appreciation network: The Wrinkly Rockers Club (WRC).
