  • Arcari's Blues Alternative Tonight! 16 June 2015

Talking of Punk - Slide guitarist and songwriter Dave Arcari’s (Vid Of The Day) alternative Blues sounds owe as much to trash Country, Punk and Rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta Blues and have been showcased via eight internationally-acclaimed solo CD releases. Tonight Dave joins Richard Dunning for Blues On The Radio tonight here at 5pm in the Croydon Radio studio for a very special show, ahead of his appearance at The Tuesday Night Music Club in St. Margaret's Road, Coulsdon, Surrey CR5 3RB at 8.30pm. • The Story Goes On! 14 June 2015

The launch of the Blackfen TRADER just under 22 years ago gave the opportunity to feed the passion of two lifelong friends to cut their teeth in music journalism, reviewing local gigs, particularly at The Woodman in Blackfen, in their monthly ‘Caught Live’ column. And ever since that non-internet era their mutual appreciation of live music has not ebbed and has metamorphosed into a growing musical appreciation network: The Wrinkly Rockers Club (WRC). And as they say the rest is history with the success of both this website and more recently WRC Promotions. So of course we're delighted to welcome back The TRADER as the band sponsor of The Troy Redfern Band this year!

  • On The Road With The 3 Kings! 7 June 2015

Pictured is Mr. RockRpix's classic photo of Joe Bonamassa at The Hammersmith Apollo in March which now adorns the back of our new '2015 WRC On Tour' t-shirts. More on how you can purchase a WRC t-shirt soon but JB's (Joe Bonamassa that is - not John Bull) latest project is a tour celebrating the Three Kings of the Blues: B.B. King, Albert King and Freddie King. Our 'Pickup' Track Of The Day tells the story of why Joe wanted to put this tour together, previews some of the rare tracks that he’s pulled out of the Kings’ catalogues and explains why singing those songs may be an even bigger challenge than the guitar parts!

  • Tesla Comin' Atcha! 27 March 2015

Time to Rock Out on a Friday! Wyatt at Planet Rock played a Tesla track yesterday and it reminded me of the time we first saw the Northern California band opening the Arrow Rock Festival in Biddinghuizen in June 2007 and again in Holland a year later in Zoetermeer. Anyway, after almost 30 years, Tesla are now touring America again with long time friends Def Leppard! Back in 1987, the two bands did a historic 'in the round' show that was the first time a rock concert was done in the centre of an arena. Def Leppard’s 'Hysteria' album was breaking platinum status and Tesla's first album 'Mechanical Resonance' was turning heads on MTV with the powerful song 'Modern Day Cowboy' - today's 'Video Of The Day'! AJ.
