Engineered and mixed by the sound maestro himself Vic Wintergreen - we understand there is even more material to come. Released through the Mascot Label Group on Friday 29th July, Gary Hoey's 20th album 'Dust & Bones' showcases his Fender Stratocaster-driven fury alongside open-D-tuned resonator guitars plugged into half-stack! The massive sonic attack was essential for paying sincere and appropriate homage to some of Hoey’s influences, such as Johnny Winter ('Steamroller'), Robin Trower ('This Time Tomorrow') and Brian Setzer ('Who’s Your Daddy'), as well as a thrill-a-minute mash up of Robert Johnson meets Led Zeppelin ('Boxcar Blues' - our Track Of The Day). There’s also a classic power ballad ('Coming Home') where Lita Ford sings a duet with Hoey.

We're now half way through announcing the winners of our 2014 WRC Awards and beating both Wolfmother and the Hives to 'Best International Artist' are Blackberry Smoke from Atlanta, Georgia. Anyway take a gander at our 'Video Of The Day' - filmed at the O2 Academy, Islington, earlier last year.

"As suggested the first five tracks are all completely different in nature. ‘Seven Questions’ opens the album with its in your face road Blues with excellent guitar breaks which then leads into ‘High and Dry’ with it’s choppy, funky guitar licks and heartfelt vocals. Next up is ‘Amsterdam’ which is probably my favourite track on the album with a 70’s Prog feel – the song has lots of different moods and the guitar solos are very reminiscent of our old friend Tony Hands from Tea for the Wicked – great stuff!! Follow that with a traditional Blues offering ‘Baby Stop Your Crying’ and a wonderful acoustic track in ‘Walk My Path’ and you have the eclectic full house – ‘Walk My Path’ has a very Joe Bonamassa feel to it as heard on ‘Black Rock’." Following the success of our recent WRC John Verity Inamo gig - another gig has been arranged at The Onyx Bar, Covent Garden on Thursday 27th October featuring Amor & Fisk (Vid Of The Day). The Joel Fisk & Jon Amor Electro Acoustic Duo originally came together as an experiment in the Summer of 2014, when the pair embarked on a short tour of the UK. The chemistry hasn’t gone unnoticed, as they’ve been nominated in the Acoustic Act of the Year category in the British Blues Awards two years running, leading them to be one of the most in-demand duos on the British Blues Scene.
