- Campaign To Support And Protect Music Venues! 9/12/15
This week the House of Commons Public Bill Committee will consider an amendment to the Housing and Planning Bill 2015-16 proposed by Michael Dugher MP. That amendment is a measure which would mean that developers would be responsible for protecting music venues against future complaints when they build residences nearby. Essentially, it is Agent of Change. It's just one year ago that the Music Venue Trust launched Frank Turner's campaign to adopt the Agent of Change principle into UK law. Today, we could actually change the law so that it starts to happen - but we need to keep the pressure on! To help support live venues across the UK go to this link here. Thank you.
- King King Prove Their Credentials! 13/11/15
"Often when bands announce they’re about to play songs from their new album, you can almost hear the audience groaning. This definitely wasn’t the case last night: King King’s ‘Reaching for the Light’ has already won awards and is not only faster, louder and more energetic, it is also their most acclaimed and most exciting album to date. All the songs from the album were well received: the bustling riffs and tough vocals in ‘Hurricane’, the ballad ‘Lay with Me’, Lindsay’s pulsating bass on ‘Crazy’ and the slower, powerful Blues of ‘Stranger to Love’, well suited to Alan’s vocal range." Read the rest of Big Ian's excellent review here plus see our Vid Of The Day.

- Introducing ....... Callaghan 23 August 2015
In the Summer of 2010 Callaghan (today's Track Of The Day) packed up her life in London and moved to Atlanta to record with Grammy nominee Shawn Mullins after contacting him on Myspace. Knocked out by her voice and songwriting, he agreed to produce her debut album 'Life In Full Colour' which was released in 2012 to great reviews. Playing live Callaghan performs on piano and guitar and delivers a vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her songs share stories and emotions and deliver thoughtful lyrics, haunting vocals, and catchy melodies. A five track EP is available to download for free here.

- Get Well Soon Dave! 15 June 2015
Of course the big news story as the WRC headed down to Brighton on Saturday was Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl who sustained "at least one fracture" when he fell off the stage during a concert in Gothenburg, Sweden. Consequently they cancelled the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, last night and tonight's show at the AFG Arena in St Gallen, Switzerland. Foo Fighters fans (including the WRC this Saturday) now face several nervous days waiting for news about the fate of gigs at Wembley stadium and Glastonbury. A spokesman for Wembley stadium said: “We are aware of the incident last night involving Dave Grohl and are in contact with the event organisers, who at this stage have no further information. “As soon as we have news from the artiste this will be made public.”

- Do You Know This Man? 1 May 2015
"I'm looking forward to seeing them play a full set - who knows maybe we can make that happen in one of our promotions?" That was part of Wrinklys Uriah Heep/VATA Islington Assembly Halls review in February 2013 and just over two years later it's gonna happen. Yes all roads tonight lead to The Red Lion, Gravesend, with headliners Virgil & The Accelerators (our Vid Of The Day) supported by Loose Moorings. Wrinklys review also included "We were amazed to be blown away by a power trio .... the boys trusted the quality of their new CD and reeled them off to a very positive response from the already decent crowd ..... we were treated as a finale to 'Are You Experienced' where Virgil really showed his full range of skills ... a quality set guys and it proved the hype that surrounds these guys is not misplaced". So there you have it - more of the same tonite please although we can't recall the name of the geezer that night pictured on the right of Virgil! Any ideas out there?
