What with Christmas, all our recent gigs and our up and coming awards announcements - we thought another band addition to our LastMinuteBandz service was well overdue! As you probably read, we had the pleasure of Geoff Carne's company recently at Def Leppard - Geoff even given us his take on proceedings here. Well Geoff is the vocals/guitar half of Geoff Carne & The Hatz with drummer/percussionist Mick Armstrong making up the other 50%! We pass the halfway mark in our 2015 WRC Awards today with the news that Paul Turley of Albany Down (pictured on our 2016 WRC Calendar) has won our 'Best Guitar Solo' award. Thanks to all of you for your messages of support following the publication of our November 2015 WRC Bulletin. It was particularly good to hear from our mate Pete Lovett of Midnight Blues Train who we featured on our 'Introducing ....' page in March. Pete told us that he also saw Joe Bonamassa in Cardiff last week plus the fact that MBT have released a newer track 'Long Time Coming' which is our Track Of The Day!

You couldn't make it up. Just three days after AJ was in Boston, Massachusetts, the WRC received our latest pre-order for our 2015 BluesRockfest DVD/CD from just 11 miles up the road in Dedham! Yes we were delighted to hear from David Riley from the Chantel McGregor US Fans Facebook page here which also coincided with the guitarist-singer-songwriter's release of her new album, 'Lose Control', last Friday on Chantel's' independent boutique label Tis Rock Music! Indeed, her first single from the album, 'Take The Power', is our Vid Of The Day filmed on location in Edinburgh, produced by Sine Wave Media and directed by Richard Weston. Friday morning's OMG factor was not only restricted to the UK's EU Referendum BRexit result! The previous evening the WRC witnessed a brilliant night of high octane Rock at the O2 Academy, Islington, from three great but different bands. The WRC first saw Blues Pills last year at Ramblin' Man and the up and coming multi-national rock act have just finished shooting the official music video for the title track of their much anticipated second album, 'Lady In Gold', which is out on Friday 5th August and is also our Vid Of The Day. Both the song as well as the video were released last week and the band have also announced tour dates throughout the UK and Ireland for this November!

Further to the amazing antics of 66 year old Angus Young the night before at London's Olympic Stadium, we witnessed the ultimate showman in the form of another 66 year old - Bruce Springsteen - at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night. The Boss was on stage for three and half hours and was the consumate of cool. Joining host Richard Dunning in the Croydon Radio studio here at 5pm tonight - prior to her showcase gig at The Tuesday Night Music Club, Hooley Village Club, St. Margaret's Road, Hooley Village, Coulsdon, Surrey, CR5 3RB - is Karena K (todays Vid Of The Day). They'll be chatting about all manner of musical things and Karena will be playing some of her favourite tracks.
