Nice to hear from our old mucker ex-Argent frontman John Verity who has recently remastered 'Zep It Up' which encaptures a couple of days spent recording these classics some twenty years ago! Because of the Summer holidays the bad news is that there is no Malcolm this week but the good news is this week's Blues Club Podcast has been released earlier and of course still features Jim! "Day one of the High Voltage reincarnation after four long years now known as Ramblin’ Man Fair took the WRC to the Garden of England and Mote Park in the heart of Kent's administrative capital Maidstone to be exact. There is no doubt that High Voltage has been badly missed by us Wrinkly Rockers so there was a lot of fascination on how well this brand new event organised by The Rock Collective and TeamRock featuring Classic Rock, Progressive Rock and Country and Blues music would go.. Never missing a trick, the WRC (well AJ actually) had been in discussion with the organisers for some time and after some delicate negotiations the Club had been provided with some Press passes as well. So AJ, Wrinkly the Silver and photographer John Bull gobbled those up giving unlimited roaming capability. Very useful!! AJ was preoccupied with pre-birthday events so the Saturday posse consisted of Silver, Wrinkly the Biker and his mate Rob and of course John to take his usual superb photos." Our Track Of The Day is dedicated mostly towards the nominees for this years British Blues Awards - playing a track from every category plus clips from some of the nominated artists who have been previously featured on Rory Auskerry's Route 66 show including Danny Bryant, King King,Chantel McGregor, Aynsley Lister, Joanne Shaw Taylor (pictured) and more. There's also music news, classic tunes from Thunder and Rod Stewart plus some really sloppy jockin' from Rory!

Sad to report that we weren't the only one's with gremlins this week. Rory Auskerry's excellent Route 66 broadcast last Sunday had no 'listen again' link as they had some technical issues - hence we could not feature it as our 'Track Of The Day'. However, Rory's back live in the studio tonight here on Pure Radio 107.8FM at 6pm for some 'rockin' jockin' - and fingers crossed that it will also be our 'Track Of The Day' later this week!

No that's not Wrinkly The Silver body surfing at BST Hyde Park on Friday - it's actually lead singer Ty Taylor of Vintage Trouble! Wow what a week - capped off with The Who, Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs, the brilliant Vintage Trouble (thanks for the tip-off Steve B.) and The Standard Lamps (our Track Of The Day and downloadable)! WTS's review will follow soon but in the meantime our BST Photo Gallery is now available here - a great reflection on another great day. "A pre-release copy of the Rainbreakers latest four track EP 'Blood Not Brass' unexpectedly landed on my doormat several weeks ago. Always on the lookout for new music to play on the Rock On The Ridge radio show, it was only a matter of seconds before the headphones were on and the Rainbreakers hit my ears full on. We very much doubt that you will ever see them at The Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, but tonight punters at The Eel Pie Club, The Cabbage Patch, 67 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ will get a chance to 'Get Stoned' on two hours of nostalgia as The Rollin' Stoned play the best of '64-69'! The Rollin' Stoned have been endorsed by Keith Richards’ mother as ‘outstanding and suitably fit stand-ins for the Stones’ and have also been described by The Times as "The nearest thing to the real article" and have been revered by both Stones fans for their authenticity and the real Rolling Stones who booked them for the band's birthday! Doors open at 8.30pm and the music starts at 9pm. WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted £11 admission.
