- Solas Is The Answer 29/8/16
We caught The Answer recently at Ramblin' Man Fair as they debuted part of their eagerly anticipated new album 'Solas' due to be released via Napalm Records on Friday 28th October. The first track to be taken from the new album is the melancholic ‘Beautiful World’, which is today's Vid Of The Day and is also now available as a download with vinyl and CD pre-orders of the album via Pledge Music. ‘Beautiful World’ will also be available as an instant grat single with pre-orders of the album via digital stores, which will go live on Friday 16th September. Co-written with former Massive Attack producer/composer Neil Davidge, ‘Beautiful World’ is bathed in a dark, cinematic eeriness, juxtaposing with its optimistic title, before evolving into an explosive, retro Rock stomper!

- Underworld Havoc 28/8/16
Norwegian Progressive Metallers Circus Maximus (Vid Of The Day) began the second leg of their 'Havoc' tour at London's Underworld last night. The first leg ended in Barcelona in March which coincided with the release of their fourth album 'Havoc' - their very first album 'The 1st Chapter' being released in May 2005. Sandwiched in between the last five months has a been the succesful crowdfunding of a special DVD filmed at Rockefeller Music Hall in their home town of Oslo. With influences of bands such as Dream Theater and Symphony X, in some eyes 'Havoc' sees a swing more towards Metal than Prog. Anyway, watch out for more pics tomorrow, plus a review and an interview to come.

A year after they opened for The Who at Charlton, Montrose were back on the UK road again in '75 as part of the Warner Bros. Music Show which also featured The Doobie Brothers and Tower Of Power (Track Of The Day). Over the years, TOP has performed with some of music’s biggest names including Elton John, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Little Feat, Dionne Warwick, David Sanborn, Paula Abdul, Aaron Neville, Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, Billy Preston, Rod Stewart, Toto and more!
- Roll Up! Roll Up! 27/8/16
Just a few months after releasing their fourth studio album 'Havoc', Progressive Metallers Circus Maximus (Track Of The Day) are popping over from Norway to London's Underworld for a one-off show tonight. Formed in 2000 and initially being a covers band, they gained much credit for their versions of technically challenging tracks by top bands such as Dream Theater and Symphony X, and then started writing their own material for their first album 'The 1st Chapter' which was released in May 2005. Further albums followed; these being 'Isolate' released in August 2007 and 'Nine' released in June 2012, before 'Havoc' was released in March 2016. Anyway, watch out for a Vid Of The Day tomorrow, plus a review, pics and an interview (trains permitting) to come.

Turn the clock back a further 38 years (ouch) and we also saw them of course with the late Ronnie Lane at Olympia's Great British Music Festival along with the esteemed company of The Pretty Things, Nazareth, Charlie, Be Bop Deluxe and some band called Bad Company!
