One of our WRC member's who had already seen guitar whirlwind Eric Gales perform in Newbury on his current UK tour had promised that were in for a real treat and he was not wrong as last night we took in Eric at Nell’s Jazz & Blues in Kensington, London - the final gig of his UK tour. Not only that, but Eric was also joined by guitar maestro Gary Hoey who, amazingly, was playing the UK for the first ever time ahead of his European tour with Beth Hart. Belgian Dark Groove Rockers Diablo Blvd have announced their first European headliner tour in support of their highly awaited new album, 'Zero Hour', which is scheduled for release on Nuclear Blast on Friday 22nd September. The dates include two UK shows which will be the band's first ever in this country. 'Zero Hour' is a dark eleven-track-groove monster with haunting melodies, huge guitar riffs, driving bass and pounding drums. Taking their inspiration from both classic Metal acts like Type O Negative, Metallica and Black Sabbath and eighties new wave bands like Killing Joke, Sisters of Mercy and Gang of Four, Diablo Blvd craft a unique sound ideally suited for these dark times. 2015 WRC ‘One’s To Watch’ award winners Southbound deservedly headlined London's iconic 100 Club in their own right on Tuesday - and boy did they make the most of it. On an awesome night of live music with great support from both Deep Blue Sea and The Lol Goodman Band, it was obviously an extended set to to one we saw Southbound supporting Frankie Miller's Full House at the beginning of May. Not only did they include 'Do You Wanna Know', 'Gentle Whispers', 'First Time Love' and 'Lonely Blues', but a couple of 'special guests' also joined the lads on stage. Yes, Wrinklystock legends The Replicants are returning to Wrinklystock 6! We caught up with some of the band at Iron Maiden's O2 gig last Saturday and they told us how excited they were to be playing at our WRC sponsored charity concert ‘Magic - a kind of Queen & a kind of ELO’ at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, on Saturday 18th November at 7.30pm. Following the success of the Monster’s Of Irish Rock featuring Limehouse Lizzy and U2 Tribe at last year’s ‘Wrinklystock 5’ - ‘Wrinklystock 6’ stars Magic, a tribute to two of the greatest British Rock bands of all time - Queen and The Electric Light Orchestra - together in one fabulous show! It's been in the can for just over two month's now - but it has been well worth waiting for. Despite the cowardly attrocity in Westminster that same Wednesday afternoon, life in England's capital city, as it always does, carried on in the face of adversity, as Monster Truck did both London and Canada proud at Camden's Electric Ballroom on 22nd March. With excellent support from "in yer face" two piece The Picturebooks, we were lucky enough to interview Jon, Brandon and Jer backstage beforehand and also present them with their 2016 WRC Best Support Band award! Since their formation in 2014, Garage Rock band Saint Agnes have released four sell-out singles, a live EP and cemented their place as London’'s most exciting live band. They are a 4 piece based in East London fronted by boy/girl duo Kitty Arabella Austen and Jon Tufnell. Saint Agnes play blistering Doom with Zeppelin swagger. They combine the churning fuzz bass of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with the dark Blues interplay of The Kills and The Dead Weather. Latest single‘ 'Merry Mother Of God Go Round'’ (today's Vid Of The Day) was the second in a series following up the success of ‘'Sister Electric’', which sold out its lathe cut vinyl release on pre-order. For the first-Time Saint Agnes recently left their home country to play a selection of shows over Europe, to recruit new fans for their coven! Make sure you catch them!
