Today's Black On Blues Track Of The Day features music from the Billy Walton Band, Andy Cohen, The King Heat Ensemble, Petri Matero Group, Little Axe and Big Jack Johnson.

It's Independent Venue Week - a 7-day celebration of small music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out. These venues give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and for fans, somewhere to get up close to artists that one day, may well be playing stadiums and festival main stages. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England, IVW brings together these venues along with breaking and established artists, promoters, labels, media, bloggers and tastemakers to create a nationwide series of gigs. So why not head down to Putney's Half Moon in London tonight to see Starsailor's James Walsh or London's Nambucca this Thursday to see Reigning Days as these venues are the backbone of the live music scene in this country and IVW wants to recognize all that they have done to create some of the most memorable nights of the past so they can continue to do the same in the future.

Well you had to be there to believe what went on at Steel Panther's Hammersmith Apollo gig on Friday night! With its mosh pit of all mosh pits (it was too dangerous to shoot a video), a stage invasion by over 60 women (President's Club eat your heart out) and great support by both Wayward Sons (pictured) and Inglorious - Mother's review of proceedings will make an interesting read. Today's Track Of The Day is Friday night's Blues On The Marsh podcast featuring the fabulous Oliver MacDonald and Steve Bailey live in the studio. The True home of International Blues also includes music from Dr. John.

2016 WRC Best Rock Performance award winnersInglorious were an Inglorious meat in the sandwich between Wayward Sons and Steel Panther (pictured) at Hammersmith Apollo last night! For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is comprised of Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). Hailing from Los Angeles, the epicentre for Rock n’ Roll in all its debauchery and glamour, Steel Panther has established themselves as the world’s premier party band, melding Hard Rock virtuosity with parody and criminally good looks. Over the next week or so we will be highlighting some of our treasured International WRC members - kicking off today with our very own Moose On The Loose! His wish was our command - requesting that we feature Canadian band CATL's new video release for 'Baby, You All Wrong' as our Video Of The Day! According to Moose's DCC website "One band! Only one band have made our Best Gigs list every year since we started in 2013 and that band is CATL!" Looks like The Dakota Tavern will be rocking out big time then tomorrow when CATL perform there. Wish we could be there Moose!

New York alt-Punk mavericks The Nectars recently revealed the video for their debut single ‘Heaven’, a three and a half minute ride into art-Rock debauchery which is today's Video Of The Day. With their debut album due out in the Summer, their punk-inflamed guitars, harmonic melodies and raw vocals lay a foundation that’s as influenced by EDM and Funk as it is by their scorching live performance. Their approach harks back to the New York Punk/Pop scene of the late 70’s, but brings a modernity of sound that these new millennial tech-savvy creatives can lay claim to. Breaking out of the suburbs of New Jersey, the four-piece consisting of members Jon Paul (bass/vocals), Mike Montalbano (drums/vocals), Michael Baron (guitar/vocals) and lead vocalist Jessica Kenny, have created a style that’s edgy, energetic and full of attitude.
