  • Dee To Rock UK In November 14/10/19

    Following the release of his new album 'Backroad Symphony', back in May we introduced you to Nashville artist Dee Rock (Track Of The Day) and the good news is that Dee is coming to the UK to tour next month, including Ilfracombe Rocks on Friday 1st, followed by two London gigs at The Bedford on 5th and The Dublin Castle on 7th. Rock's Lone Star roots run deep, tracing his family from the time of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie at the Alamo, to today. Both of Dee's parents are music lovers and raised their children on a soundtrack ranging from Motown to Grand Ole Opry, with artists like BB King, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and The Allman Brothers. All of that great music has shaped Dee Rock's style and sent him down the road he's on. Rock has found success in both sides of the music industry ~ on stage and off ~ from producing artists and song writing for various record companies including Virgin, EMI and Capitol Records, to writing the soundtrack for the Warner Bros. film 'Divas'.

  • Green Sepultura Underworld Masterclass Tonite 14/10/19

    Today's amazing Video Of The Day features Sepultura playing 'Isolation' from their upcoming new album, live at Brazil's Rock in Rio earlier this month. And tonight, as part of his European Masterclass Tour, the Brazilian band's legendary singer Derrick Green is appearing at Camden's The Underworld in London with a meet and great after his masterclass! Derrick is one of the first international Metal singers to embark on a masterclass tour, and this will be a unique occasion to spend a technical Metal evening with the American vocal giant, as Derrick will speak about his technique and share his experiences, tips and inspirations.

  • Wishbone Academy This Thursday 13/10/19

    Wishbone Ash (Track Of The Day), whose legendary twin lead guitar line-up warrants them one of the important and influential Rock bands in music history, have recently signed to Steamhammer/SPV to release their upcoming new studio album in January 2020. The lead single, ‘We Stand As One’, is set to be released in conjunction with their extensive 50th Anniversary October/November 2019 UK tour which includes London's Islington's O2 Academy this Thursday 17th October, where plans are in the pipeline for a video clip to be shot. Founder member, guitarist and vocalist Andy Powell, alongside guitarist Mark Abrahams and long-standing band members Bob Skeat (bass) and Joe Crabtree (drums), are currently in the studio in the US applying the finishing touches to the new album.

    Taking a break from putting the finishing touches to their new album, 2018 WRC Best Support Band award winners Doomsday Outlaw have hit the road to give a deafening farewell to some old tunes and break in some new bangers, including London's The Black Heart in Camden last night, with brilliant co-headliners Daxx & Roxane (pictured).     With a review to come, today check out our Photo Gallery here from the last night of Planet Rock Roadstars, showcasing three of the most exciting new prospects in the world of Blues Rock, at London's O2 Academy, Islington on Friday. With Birmingham's Piston opening and Manchester's Gorilla Riot being the meat in the gig sandwich, American guitarist Hannah Wicklund And The Steppin Stones completed the evening with a delightful set with some fierce and impassioned guitar playing, displaying sensitivity, delicate picking and pure singing on stand out track from her latest album 'Shadowboxes and Porcelain Faces' or rocking out melodically on 'Mama Said'.

  • Black Heart Outlaws Tonight 12/10/19

    Taking a break from putting the finishing touches to their new album, 2018 WRC Best Support Band award winners Doomsday Outlaw are hitting the road to give a deafening farewell to some old tunes and break in some new bangers, including London's The Black Heart in Camden tonight, with support from Daxx & Roxane. Expect a heavy groove and neck-snapping hooks, from the Hard Rock, Blues tinged quintet who released their well received ‘Hard Times’ album in May last year and subsequently spent much of the year on the road.

    Today British Blues Award winner King Size Slim (Track Of The Day) take to the Blues At Barleylands stage at 2pm at Barleylands Social Club, Barleylands Road, Billericay CM11 2UF. Toby Barelli aka King Size Slim brings his 'Heavyweight Roots Acoustic' sound North from his native Hastings for an early Autumn Session. Double bass, resonator guitar and a peculiar two man, no drums percussion section creates the unique KSS sound live and direct in Essex.

    "Whether by design or destiny this quartet have taken on the mantle of cheering us up in these over-political times, retaining a heavy underfelt which revealed Steely Dan and Average White Band influences and fitted in perfectly with the Glitterball graveyard of Grace. His guitar playing is superb and probably informed his to decision to front his own band. The playing demands to take centre-stage and he certainly has the chops when it comes to fluid intricate fingering to slide guitar, you name it this guy can do it with panache."   • Yes 2020 UK Tour Tickets Today 11/10/19

    Yes, one of the most innovative of all Prog-Rock bands, and true legends of the genre, have announced a 8-date UK tour for May and June next year, ending at London's Royal Albert Hall on Friday 5th June. Tickets go onsale here or from the 24hr Ticket Hotline: 0844 249 2222 at 10am today. An extensive European tour will also be announced soon. 'The 'Album Series 2020 Tour' will feature their 1974 'Relayer' album in its entirety together with a selection of other classic Yes favourites. This tour follows last year's highly successful #YES50 Anniversary tour (Video Of The Day) and again features the line-up of Steve Howe (guitars), Alan White (drums), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Billy Sherwood (bass guitar and backing vocals), Jon Davison (vocals) and Jay Schellen (additional drums and percussion). The show will comprise two sets by the band with full production and a high definition video wall. The first will feature favourite classic tracks from their extensive catalogue and the second will feature 'Relayer'.

Planet Rock Roadstars features American Blues Rock guitarist Hannah Wicklund And The Steppin Stones, who Joe Bonamassa describes as “a kaleidoscope of blazing guitars and searing vocals”, plus Manchester Rock band Gorilla Riot and Birmingham's Piston - a hi-octane live extravaganza that saw each band alternate on tour as headliners, giving them an equal share of the limelight.

  • Geoff Carne Interview 10/10/19

    Following their appearance at Wolverhampton's Codsall Beer Festival last Saturday, one half of Geoff Carne & The Hatz appeared on the Beeb the following night! Listen to today's Track Of The Day as Geoff did a live solo acoustic set and an interview on Sue Marchant's 'Big Night In' on BBC Cambs, Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk. Recently the duo released their latest EP 'The Kids', which includes four different versions of the Robbie & Kylie classic. On the road, Geoff is armed with vocals and guitar while Mick provides the beats with drums/percussion, giving a fresh direction to the Blues based British Rock genre, lying somewhere between the Classic Rock/Blues of Bad Company, the alternative Blues of The White Stripes plus the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - hence the Indie Rock/Blues tag they've acquired.
