  • Fight Them All 10/9/20

An up-and-coming Heavy Metal act from Grenoble, Rising Steel are the first ever French signing to Frontiers, who released 'Fight Them All' last Friday, of which today's Track Of The Day, 'Mystic Voices', is taken from the new album. After releasing a debut EP in 2014 and full-length album, ‘Return Of The Warlord’, in 2016, the band shared stages with acts such as Annihilator, Nightmare and Nashville Pussy, which gave them exposure to a larger international audience and alerted them to Frontiers. Following three further years of gigging and writing new material, 'Fight Them All' presents an aggressive mixture of Heavy, Power and Thrash Metal. Explosive riffing, crushing rhythms and headbanging songs are the order of the day as the quintet delivers a sound with influences coming mainly from the 1980’s NWOBHM, Hard Rock and Thrash Metal scenes. Solid and powerful Metal music, the band is inspired by the legacies of legends such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and is recommended for fans of the likes of Queensrÿche, Iced Earth and early Metallica.

  • Crosby Pevar Raymond CD Review 9/9/20

"These two albums constitute CPR’s entire studio output and it’s good to have them available again. If they are well received perhaps it may lead to the reissue on CD of the band’s two live digital albums, ‘Live At Cuesta College’ (1998) and ‘Live At The Wiltern’ (1999).” Today read another one of our great album reviews, as Gary Smith gives you his take here on not just one, but two albums, 'CPR' and 'Just Like Gravity', released by Crosby Pevar Raymond at the end of July, of which the track, 'Morrison', is today's Video Of The Day.

  • Ain't Goin' Down Alone 8/9/20

Last Friday Jim Kirkpatrick released his brand new solo album, ‘Ballad of a Prodigal Son’, on US One Records, of which his latest single taken from the album, ‘Ain’t Goin’ Down Alone’, is today's Video Of The Day. Following on from his 2006 debut ‘Changed Priorities’, this new album took some time to assemble, due to Jim’s FMcommitments to touring all over the World, including playing at some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious Rock festivals, and supporting top-flight Rock icons, as well as his recording and touring commitments with some of the UK’s top talent. Having also accumulated over two decades of experience as one of the UK’s most in demand session players, ‘Ballad of a Prodigal Son’ has a very different sound and feel to his debut though. It’s less ‘acoustical’, and indeed Jim has called on a wealth of friends and colleagues in its making, that really showcases where he is today as a guitarist and songwriter.
