  • Steely Rock Vault 19/11/20

    It's a case of lucky thirteen today, as we again play catch up with our latest Track Of The Day, with the thirteenth Rock Vault 107 show featuring Steely Dan (pictured), Traffic, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Band, Sugarloaf, Three Dog Night, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Bachman Turner Overdrive and more. Indeed, you can also listen live to Jules and Bob tomorrow night and every Friday night at 8pm on 107 Meridian FM. Taking you back in time, they'll bring you tracks that you may know and some you may not, plus they always feature a special year.

  • Lucid Hallucinations 19/11/20

    Alternative Rock band, Pylon Poets, combine elements of the current world situation, mental health and dream states, on their new EP, ‘Lucid Hallucinations’, which is due to be released via all online platforms on Friday 18th December. Consisting of Dan Hughes - vocals, guitars, synths, Sam McIver - drums and Nathan Hughes - bass, the Torquay band is inspired by the sounds of many Rock, Synth and high energy bands, and the end result is a blended, unique sound, staying true to their sonic vision. All four tracks were recorded this year producing three singles. ‘Breathe’ was the first single to be released in March, followed in July by ‘Abandon’ which gained radio play on Planet Rock Radio and Emerging Rock Bands Radio amongst other radio stations. The latest single ‘Rise and Call’ was released earlier this month, with a powerful, thought provoking video, portraying the year as it happened. Opening track ‘Reverie’ has been teased at live shows since its creation and is an unheard track to many, that will be complemented by a new music video, on the day of the EP release. With two previous UK tours and an array of festival appearances, the band continue to grow as they explore new genres, delve in to experimentation and aim to break new musical barriers.

  • Who's Out There? 19/11/20

    Today's Video Of The Day is the new single, 'Who's Out There?', from the West Wickhams, who are not only a Psychedelique Garage Noir deux-piece, but also an imagined rival gang to Punk style icons the Bromley Contingent! A tribute to Sci-Fi B Movies, the duo also include Whitby Abbey, Pipe Organs, Flowers, Polka Dot Cats, Dark Punk, Gothic Novels, Rock 'n' Roll Autobiographies, Castles, Abstract Painting, Euphoria, Mist, Autumn, Halloween, Optical Illusions, Edgar Allan Poe and Andy Warhol, among others, as their influences! Jon Othello and Elle Flores are originally from the Isles of Scilly's Tresco, the famous island of lost souls that's home to subtropical plants and shipwrecked figureheads, but they both recently relocated to Richmond, Surrey!

  • Can't Hold Me Down 18/11/20

    Collateral, who are due to play next year's Ramblin' Man Fair on Friday 16th July, are back with a vengeance with their most powerfully uplifting and empowering single to date, 'Can’t Hold Me Down', which is due to be released by Roulette Media next Friday 27th November. The single was recorded and produced by the band and mixed by Grammy Nominated producer and engineer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Motorhead). 'Can’t Hold Me Down' is also the first piece of new material to feature Collateral’s expanded six-piece line-up which includes new members Robert Fenning (keyboards) and Louis Malagodi (guitar) alongside original members Angelo Tristan (lead vocals, guitar), Todd Winger (guitar), Jack Bentley-Smith (bass) and Ben Atkinson (drums).

  • The Show That Never Ends 18/11/20

    In celebration of Keith Emerson's 76th birthday earlier this month, The Keith Emerson Estate and Cherry Red Records have announced the long-awaited release next year of The Official Keith Emerson Tribute Concert (see today's Video Of The Day) on Wednesday 11th March - the fifth anniversary of Keith's passing. This official 3-disc set brings you the 150-minute 2016 Los Angeles concert film featuring a once-in-a-lifetime lineup of musical luminaries, including amongst others, Brian Auger, Eddie Jobson, Jordan Rudess, Steve Lukather and Aaron Emerson, performing music from Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Nice, Emerson, Lake & Powell, The Keith Emerson Band and the Three Fates Project. As well as artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, tribute speeches and a gallery of personal never-before-seen photos from the Emerson estate, all proceeds will go to The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation charity, which was close to Keith’s heart.

  • King Of The Dead Control 18/11/20

    Very aptly, three-piece Horror Rock band King of the Dead released their debut single, 'Control', last Friday 13th, and today's lyric video Track Of The Day, with illustrations by artist Sam Mayle, provides a glimpse into the world that the band inhabit! Their music is anthemic and dark (think 30 Seconds To Mars meets Ghost) with driving guitars and soaring vocals. Consisting of Shah - vocals, guitar, Oddi - bass and Aldoir - drums, it's the start of a 5-song story about sacrifice, possession and the occult. Indeed, they are a band that are not afraid to be bold and are a celebration of the macabre and the weird!

  • Straight Up Genius 17/11/20

    Today's Video Of The Day is 'Straight Up Genius’, the forthcoming new single from young UK singer/songwriter Jack Blackman, available on all digital platforms from Friday 27th November. It's a 160 second trip featuring jangling 12 string, slide guitar, swirling Wurlitzer and rich vocal harmonies, plus the track’s addictive 60's vibe showcases a side to Jack’s musicality that is often overlooked. 'Straight Up Genius’ was written by Blackman, and in addition to his vocals, guitars, banjo and percussion, it also features Adam Barry on keyboards, James Maguire on bass/backing vocals and David Vaughan on drums. The accompanying video was created by The Artful Doodler, who perfectly brings Blackman’s Straight Up Genius character to life. Fast developing into one the most accomplished and exciting young performers on the Roots scene today, Jack has performed all across the UK and as far as the Mississippi Delta.

  • Master Of Masters 17/11/20

    Iron Mask, the Neoclassical Power Metal masters and one of the world's leading Neoclassical and most original acts, return after a four-year break to continue their successful collaboration with AFM Records, when they release their latest album, 'Master Of Masters', on Friday 4th December. Founded almost 20 years ago as a side project to guitarist, composer, producer and songwriter Dushan Petrossi's main band, Magic Kingdom, Iron Mask, named after the mysterious prisoner from Alexandre Dumas' novel "The Man in the Iron Mask", have matured into a sovereign band and a big-shot in the international Metal scene. Playing breathtakingly energetic Hard Rock, and also featuring Mike Slembrouck - vocals, Vassili Moltchanov - bass and Ramy Ali – drums, all twelve songs have that perfect combination of pure Metal, but easy-listening feel with Progressive touches, beautiful orchestrations, virtuos playing and catchy melodies.

  • Hot Laundry Shake 16/11/20

    Hailing from San Francisco, Hot Laundry's new single, and today's Track Of The Day, 'Shake', is a full throttle Rock 'n' Roll revolution via Die Laughing Records. Soulful lead singer Janette Lopez, rooted from Detroit, Michigan, brings her classic Motown style and her love for 1960's bad girl garage groups to the performance, that's also heavily influenced by MC5, The Stooges, 1970's east coast Punk Rock and Delta Blues. Also consisting of backup vocalists Ileath Bridges and Gena Serey, Grady Hord - guitar and keyboards, Casey Gallagher - bass and Mark Mortensen - drums, with lyrics reflecting hard work, hard times, love and dancing all night, Hot Laundry is Rock 'n' Roll for your soul.

  • Viva La Victoria 15/11/20

    Earlier this month Swedish Hard Rock act Eclipse released their first ever official live album, 'Viva La Victouria' (Track Of The Day), which was recorded in Gothenburg just before Christmas last year in support of their successful current studio album, ‘Paradigm’. Additional bonus materials include the studio track ‘Driving One Of Your Cars’ (a Lisa Miskovsky cover), an acoustic versions of 'The Downfall Of Eden' and ‘When The Winter Ends', as well as live tracks from the band's ‘Live from the Quarantine’ pay-per-view special recorded in Stockholm this April. This live album completes the promotion of the ‘Paradigm’ album and serves as a fitting document of an extremely successful yet simultaneously strange phase in the career of Eclipse given the restrictions posed by the ongoing pandemic.

  • The Hammer Finally Falls 15/11/20

    Today's Video Of The Day is Friday's release of ‘World On Fire’, Jack J Hutchinson's first single from his next studio album, 'The Hammer Falls'. It's a four-minute slab of Hard Rock that mixes a brutal Sabbath-esque opening riff with a sing along chorus perfectly built for packed venues. The middle 8 takes the track in an unexpected direction, with hints of Floyd, before the band come crashing back in for the finale. The track was recorded in Brazil at the renowned Estúdio Versão Acústica and produced by Lucas Sagaz, who also mixed Hutchinson’s recent live album ‘Who Feeds The Lockdown?’. It was co-written with his band mates Lazarus Michaelides (bass) and Felipe Amorim (drums). The band are currently working on the new album at Momentum Studios in Devon, where Kris Barras Band recorded their last two albums.
