Country singer-songwriter Hayley Jensen released her latest single, 'Fireworks', last month, through Social Family Records, the Power Pop-Country follow-up to her biggest hit to date, 'Breakin’ Hearts'. Co-written with Aussie expat and Billboard Country #1 songwriter, Phil Barton, and writing partner, Dana Heaton-Perdue, 'Fireworks' features soaring, powerhouse vocals we’ve come to expect from Jensen, the song capturing the electricity and spark of young love. Sticking with a winning formula, Hayley called on the production prowess of Troy Kokol at Reluctant Cowboy Records in Canada, who also produced and co-wrote 'Breakin’ Hearts'. As with the previous single, Jensen recorded vocals in her home studio in Sydney, and Kokol played every instrument on the track.

Legendary Australian rockers Taste have released today's Video Of The Day for '2020's Gone', the new single from their upcoming EP, 'Brothers Vol. 1', that will be available worldwide on Wednesday 23rd December. Written as an anthem to kick this year's arse and say "good riddance 2020", Ken Murdoch (vocals), Michael Tortoni (bass) and Joey Amenta (guitar), are hoping to create a universal response at 12.01am on Friday 1st January 2021 by encouraging all media and musicians to join them in playing '2020's Gone' through whatever outlet is available to you! 'Brothers Vol. 1' is an EP for our times, but steeped in the wide-screen colours of a more Progressive era. Real strings. Layers of percussion. Walls of harmony. Crafted segues, dramatic timing shifts and a vast, unified vision that befits the grandeur of its title. The band is a potpourri of Queen, Muse and 10cc. Harmonies, guitars and souring vocals abound!

DBA (Downes Braide Association) return next year with their fifth album, 'Halcyon Hymns', which will be released on Friday 5th February, and the duo have recently launched the first track from the album, 'Love Among The Ruins', a delightful and uplifting love song, that is today's Track Of The Day. Keyboard wizard with Yes, Geoff Downes was a founder member of Asia and was one half of Buggles, with Trevor Horn on 'Video Killed The Radio Star', whilst British singer-songwriter-pianist-producer Chris Braide, who recently re-located back to the UK from the USA, has worked with the cream of artists, from Lana Del Rey, Paloma Faith and Marc Almond to Beyonce to name but a few. Indeed, 'Halcyon Hymns' also features contributions by Almond (ex-Soft Cell) and David Longdon (Big Big Train). It's their fifth DBA collaboration, and follows their previous critically-acclaimed studio albums 'Pictures of You' (2012), 'Suburban Ghosts' (2015) and 'Skyscraper Souls' (2017). The duo have also released 'Live In England' (2019), recorded at their first ever concert at Trading Boundaries, East Sussex, in 2018.

Multi-award-winning, genre-crossing Blues, Roots and Americana star, Elles Bailey, released her brand new covers album ‘Ain’t Nothing But’ last Friday and her first single, Country music Supergroup, The Highwomen's, 'Crowded Table', is today's Video Of The Day. It's a 16-track album, recorded live as part of Elles’ 'Ain't Nothing But' livestream series at White Noise Studios, surrounded by dangling Edison bulbs and candles on the floor, during this Summer. The album draws together 2 of her 3 livestream shows: ‘Ain't Nothing But The Lyrics’ and ‘Ain't Nothing But The Blues'. ‘Ain’t Nothing But’ not only showcases Elles’ much-acclaimed, feeling-filled, sonorous and super-smoky distinctive lead vocal style, but also features stunning performances from Joe Wilkins (guitar and background vocals tracks 1-16), Phil King (guitar and background vocals, tracks 1-7) and Joe James (double bass and background vocals, tracks 8-16).

Following the release of his album, ‘The Bookends’, via Provogue/Mascot Label Group last year, Eric Gales has now rescheduled next year's UK tour from February 2022 to March 2022. The album features collaborations with B. Slade, Doyle Bramhall II and Beth Hart, and was written over a nine month period, recorded at Studio Delux, Van Nuys, California, The Dog House, Woodland Hills, California and Blakeslee Recording, North Hollywood. Special guest on all shows is the critically acclaimed British Blues Rock guitarist Danny Bryant. Hailed as “A National Blues Treasure", Bryant released his 11th studio album ‘Means of Escape’ via Jazzhaus Records to great fanfare last year.

"The album ends with a lovely instrumental called ‘Twilight’, that has the melody carried along by picked chords over which E D plays some excellent Bluesy solos. The bass is again excellent. This is a really fine collection. E D doesn’t quite have the same connotation as EC but is well worth checking out all the same. These are the sort of songs and style of guitar playing that puts a smile on the face!"
