  • About Moving On 27/12/20

Today's beautifully understated Lo-Fi Alt Pop Track Of The Day, is Canadian songstress Vissia's breathtaking music video (directed by Cassandra Paige) for 'About Moving On', released last month. Following the tale of strength in vulnerability in ‘Walk Me Home’, comes a minimalist ballad about the painful fallout of a relationship - heart-breakingly intimate, with Vissia’s exquisite voice leading the charge. Unequivocally cinematic and ethereal in tone, Vissia’s new offering is an exploration into the unpredictable nature of grieving and emotions. Her astute lyricism is matched here with deep yet minimal synth lines which gives the song a sense of flow and continuum, making the feeling of heartbreak incredibly palpable.

  • Desolate July In January 31/1/20

Former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force), says a lot about the huge talent involved, combined with a cohesive and recognizable individual stance on their 2017 #1 debut album, 'Psychotic Symphony'. Consequently the band’s headlining “MMXX World Tour” will take them around the world, including European tour dates such as London's Islington Asembly Hall on Thursday 19th March, as well as South American dates in April.

  • Leslie West 26/12/20

American Rock guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Leslie West (Video Of The Day), best known as a founding member and co-lead vocalist of Mountain, sadly passed away at the age of 75 this week, just days before Christmas. This legendary Power-Rock band made its electrifying debut at Woodstock in the summer of 1969, and thirty-five years and millions of album sales later, the line-up still included the whiskey voiced West, plus the incomparable Corky Laing on drums (who believe it or not did not play with them at Woodstock), when we were lucky enough to see them at Dartford's Mick Jagger Centre, back in February 2005.

  • Bloody Masterminds 15/5/20

Hard Rockers Bloody Heels release their new album ‘Ignite The Sky’ on Friday 10th July, and their first single 'Criminal Masterminds', released at the end of last month, is today's Video Of The Day. The Latvians recently joined the rapidly expanding pool of young talent at the Frontiers label, and one listen to their 2017 debut album ’Through Mystery' will explain why the label simply had to sign them. With nods to the best of the Classic 80’s Hard Rock scene, but also bordering on Heavy Metal, the band is a delightful mix of catchy and driving Rock. With a great whisky-soaked voice, singer Vicky White provides the perfect accompaniment for the musical fire and brimstone that guitarist Harry Rivers, bassist Gunn Everett and drummer Gus Hawk rain down upon listeners to the band.
