A key figure in the US ‘Murder Folk’ scene that also includes contemporaries such as The Devil Makes Three and The Dead South, the music of singer-songwriter Amigo The Devil is a unique blend of Folk that also incorporates elements of Southern Gothic, Country and Bluegrass. Initially influenced by the likes of Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the artist born as Danny Kiranos has a recognised sound that carries traces of US artists such as Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show and singer-songwriters William Elliott Whitmore and David Eugene Edwards (16 Horsepower), allied with direct, often morbid lyrics shot through with a dark sense of humour. A first taste from his new album ‘Everything Is Fine’, due to be released this coming Friday, is the confessional ballad ‘Cocaine And Abel’ (today's Track Of The Day). Kiranos has also amassed a sizeable following in the UK and will tour for the first time as Amigo The Devil in December kicking off at London's The Borderline on Friday 7th.

Legendary Rhythm'n' Blues band Dr Feelgood celebrate their 50th anniversary this year with a definitive 'Greatest Hits' compilation, out on Friday 2nd April, which includes a new rendition of Willie Dixon's ‘You Can't Judge a Book By Lookin at the Cover’ - one of today's 'Feelgood Sunday' Tracks Of The Day that also features new stuff from Osyron, The Druids Of Stonehenge, Elliott Waits For No One, Arsenic Tea Party and Storm Seeker. One of the UK's hardest working groups, The Feelgoods formed in 1971 on their native Canvey Island beside the Thames estuary. Theirs is a remarkable story. Fronted by singer and harmonica player Lee Brilleaux and guitarist extraordinaire Wilko Johnson, they made their name in the music pubs of London and soon landed a major record deal. This double album is a fitting way to herald half a century of one of the truly great British bands.

DBA (Downes Braide Association) returnedlast Friday with their fifth album, 'Halcyon Hymns', plus the duo also released their third single from the album, and today's Video Of The Day, 'Today', an anthemic celebration of life and making the most of what we have, here and now, something we have all come to appreciate in these unprecedented times. Geoff Downes (keyboards, programming) and Chris Braide (vocals) are joined on the album by Ash Soan on drums, Andy Hodge (bass) and Dave Bainbridge - who provides a particularly tasty guitar throughout 'Today' - its infectious melody promising to make this a radio delight.
