A welcome departure from our usual TOTD format, 'Ascendant', the ten-track third and latest album from Part Stoner, Sludge, Punk, Hard Rock, Doom, Grunge Classic Rock, Heavy Metal and Prog Rock band, Problem With Dragons, are today's Tracks Of The Day. Creatinga rich tapestry of different noises and riffs, it can be very hard to keep up with at times, and shouldn't really work, but Problem With Dragons pull this off with conviction and style.

A mainstay of modern-day American Roots music with his band The Wood Brothers, Oliver Wood has announced his debut solo album, Always Smilin', will be released on Friday 21st May on Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers, and its first single, 'Fine Line', is today's Video Of The Day. Wood has spent the better part of the 21st century blurring the boundaries between Folk, Gospel, Country-Soul and Americana, earning an international audience and a Grammy Award-nomination along the way. Now stepping out on his own, he refocuses his sharp songwriting, savvy guitar chops, and one-of-a-kind voice on an 11-song collection that evokes the swagger of a Saturday evening picking party one moment and the solemnity of a Sunday morning gospel service the next.

Son Of Boar surge forward with their tusks up with every second of their superb new self-titled debut album, due out Good Friday, of which the lead single, 'Cities Of The Deadeyed Priestess', was not only released digitally yesterday, but is today's Video Of The Day. Flying the flag as one of the best emerging Heavy Doom bands, and with smoke swirling around some very cool Stoner flourishes, Son of Boar may well emerge from being strong competition to stand out as leaders of the pack. Despite all that 2020 brought with it, Gareth Bates - bass, Lyndon Birchall - guitar, Luke Doran - drums, Luke Oliver - vocals and Adam Waddell - guitar, remain undeterred whilst they stomp their way to the forefront with the heaviest of riffs, dopest of grooves and the confidence and swagger of the heavy beast that they are.
