    With two full length albums under their belt, Germany´s Heavy Progressive Riff Rock outfit, Ape Shifter, have stepped into the virtual age by releasing their first digital single, 'Betty Davis', which is today's Video Of The Day. Inspired by the Queen of Funk legend, and to celebrate her recent 76th birthday on 26th July, Jeff Aug (guitar) and Florian Walter (bass), enlisted D.C. go-go, Rock and Funk drummer, Tony Mcghee, to lay down the groove on the single, while drummer Kurty Münch took a sabbatical for the year. Also watch out for some German festival dates by the trio this month.

    British underground music veterans The Speed Of Sound release their forthcoming fifth studio album, 'Museum of Tomorrow', via California's Big Stir Records, on Friday 17th September, 32 years to the day the band released their debut EP back in 1989, and ahead of this, the band have revealed the lead track, 'Tomorrow's World', which is one of today's six of the best 'Monday Rocks!'     It's been a long time coming, but our August WRC Gig Calendar (below) is now full of festivals including Bloodstock, A New Day (pictured), Beautiful Days, Chelsea Blues and Stonedead, to name but a few. Not only that, but our August calendar also heralds the return of a number of gigs at our much missed venues, highlights this month including Dead Romantic (Video Of The Day), Atomic Rooster, Tubular Bells, Malcolm Bruce and Aynsley Lister, again to name but a few.     Thirty years or so after they had huge success with the likes of NME and Radio 1 airplay, Pharaoh House Crash's songwriter, Peter Lundy (pictured), has finally decided to reignite his love and passion for music, with the first instalment being today's Video Of The Day, 'Hoyden to Harridan'. The Belfast native writes about the societal collapse that is still prevalent today, and is a celebration of the wonderful female authors going back to the 17th century, where this bass heavy, Post-Punk song, lists 120 of them, as well as the derogatory terms that still get used for women to the present day.

    Today's Podcast Of The Day took place exactly four years ago, when we had a quick chat with teenage guitar sensation Aaron Keylock, before he was due to grace the Ramblin' Man Fair Four Roses Bourbon Blues Stage later that Sunday afternoon, when we discussed the release of his critically acclaimed debut album 'Cut Against The Grain', further album and festival plans, plus which particular Ramblin' Man artists he was looking forward to seeing later that afternoon.
