  • Finnish Roots 2/2/22

    One of the biggest names in the Finnish Metal scene, and the latest sample off of Diablo's long-awaited seventh album, 'When All The Rivers Are Silent', due out on Friday 25th February, sees the masters of Outlaw Metal release their brand new single, 'The Stranger', which is also today's Video Of The Day. Indeed, Diablo albums are known to be carefully handcrafted, and this is no exception, as Rainer Nygård (vocals and guitar) and Marko Utriainen (guitar), have written an intense collection of songs, the concept and visuals of which, take the band back to their Finnish roots, namely the River Kalajoki in Northern Ostrobothnia.

  • Sam Kelly's Station House At TNMC Tonite! 1/2/22

    Today's Blues On The Radio Podcast Of The Day kicks off with a preview of tonight's Sam Kelly's Station House gig as The Tuesday Night Music Club in Coulsdon re-opens it's doors again with the rest of the show dedicated to Worcester's three-day Old Bush Blues Festival this August, that includes Catfish, Connor Selby, James Oliver, Jack Blackman, Hollie Rogers, The Cinelli Brothers, Mark Harrison, Northsyde, Dan Burnett, The Milk Men (pictured), Krissy Matthews and Gerry Jablonski.

  • Mayall's Hungry and Ready 1/2/22

    On his latest album, 'The Sun is Shining Down', released last Friday via Forty Below Records, Blues legend John Mayall teams up with a stellar cast to deliver a funky soulful affair punctuated by brass, violins, harmonica and electric ukulele, that includes today's Video Of The Day, 'Hungry and Ready', featuring guitarist Melvin Taylor, who proves exactly why he’s been wowing Chicago Blues audiences for decades. Indeed, for over 50 years, Mayall has served as a pioneer of Blues music, rightly earning him the title, "The Godfather of British Blues". In 2013, John signed with producer Eric Corne's label, Forty Below Records, and has been experiencing a true artistic and career renaissance, including a Blues Hall of Fame induction in 2015.

    The daughter of Craig Reid (of Scottish legends The Proclaimers), and described by Americana legend Steve Earle as “an outstanding songwriter”, Roseanne Reid stops off at Bury St. Edmunds tonight, as part of her current tour supporting Teddy Thompson, that continues with three more gigs in Richmond, Bristol and Manchester this week, and to support her tour,Roseanne has also released her new single, 'Hallucinate', which is one of today's 'Monday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further new and recent releases from Wyldra, NightNight, Restive Nation, Violent Scenes and Septem.

  • Sleep When I'm Tired 30/1/22

    Released by MPress Records, hot on the heels of prior single, 'Unconditional', today's Video Of The Day of, 'Sleep When I'm Tired', is another new track taken from Poetica's, spoken-word self-titled concept album, a collaboration conceived, produced and engineered by singer and six-time Independent Music Award winner Rachael Sage, and three-time Grammy winning cellist Dave Eggar, that subsequently resulted in many renowned musicians from around the globe, contributing on arrangements, fusing poetry with elements of Jazz, Classical, Americana and Appalachian Folk. With its instantly hummable melody, harnessing Eastern European and Flamenco musical flavours, 'Sleep When I'm Tired' calls to mind such poets/musicians as Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Laurie Anderson, and Patti Smith. Indeed, it's a cinematic escape from the mundane that takes us on a visually beautiful, but slightly disturbing trip into the unknown, encouraging us to slow down and notice the inspiring relics left along our own paths by others, especially in these often surreal and disorienting times.

    For fans of Evergrey, Kamelot and Conception, Melodic Heavy Metal band, The Silent Wedding, release their latest album, 'Ego Path', on Friday 11th February, and the Greek outfit consisting of Marios Karanastasis (vocals), Jim Katsaros (guitars and samples), Giannis Thermos (keyboards and backing vocals), Giorgos Kritharis (bass) and Renos Lialioutis (drums and percussion), have just released their second single from the album, 'Caught in the Web', which smacks of Prog and Power experimentation, intensity and loud guitars, melodic lines, lyricism and flow, and is also one of today's six of the best 'Sunday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further new and recent releases from Krilloan, Dirty Laces, Cat Dowling, Cult Of Luna and Turbo.
