As usual yesterday's February Bulletin was opened up by WRC members all over the world including the USA, New Zealand, Poland, Croatia and Brazil. We subsequently realised that we have recently neglected our Canadian correspondent 'The Moose' so it's about time we put that right! Indeed his excellent website 'Danger Canadian Content' carried an excellent review here of The White Buffalo (aka Jake Smith) who coincidentally is playing Ramblin' Man on the Outlaw Country Stage on Saturday 23rd July - and of course we will be there. The well overdue return of our 'Introducing ....' feature welcomes the Welsh mouthful that it is Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard! The Doom monsters consist of Paul Michael Davies (guitar and synth), Jessica Ball (bass and vocals), Wez Leon (guitar) and James Carrington (drums). Indeed our Track Of The Day is their new album ‘Noeth Ac Anoeth’ released by New Heavy Sounds at the end of last year. Paul was also formerly part of Mother Of Six who were featured by the WRC on a previous Wrinklycast.

Will is recognised as one of the most distinctive and exciting performers on the British Blues scene today. His guitar playing is both modern and cutting edge but also steeped in the blues history passed from generation to generation. Hardly surprising as Will has direct heritage to a golden age of music. As well as being a spellbinding live act, Will is a hugely respected songwriter, having thrice been nominated for ‘Best Original Blues Song’ by the British Blues Awards in three consecutive years!

We brought you news in October about guitarist Dave 'Bucket' Colwell, formerly of Bad Company and Humble Pie and his new band 'Buckets Rebel Heart'. Well not only has their new album '20 Good Summers' reached 99% of their pledge goal here - but also Dave is at Leos Red Lion on Saturday 13th February 2016. Support is also from our 2014 BluesFest mucker Damo Fawsett with his new band Big River. The gig kicks off at 7.30pm and tickets priced £8.50 can be ordered in advance here.

Christmas is drawing near and Tobias Sammet has got his "Nutcracker suit" on already! If you listen to the Tobias Sammet Rockshow on Radio Bob here on Wednesday 9th December at 21.00 German Time you will get a world-exclusive pre-listening of the new Avantasia tune! It will also be available officially on Friday 11th December digitally from i-Tunes and other platforms.

Beth Hart (today's Track Of The Day) is on fire. Right now, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter is riding a creative tidal wave, firing out acclaimed albums, hooking up with the biggest names in music and rocking the house each night with that celebrated burnt-honey voice. The headline news is that Beth’s latest album, 'Fire On The Floor' (out on Friday 14th October on Provogue/Mascot Label Group) sees this fiercely self-critical artist describe it as as “pretty frickin’ good”. In April 2015, she released 'Better Than Home': a critical and commercial smash that topped the iTunes Blues Chart and was crowned #4 Best Blues Album Of The Year by Mojo magazine. The release led her to fill Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall with 5,500 fans (her largest club show to date). Consequently the WRC are off to see Beth at The Royal Festival, London, on Wednesday 23rd November!

What do you mean - yet another holiday? Well after Ramblin' Man Fair we are now recharging our batteries with a short break. But do not fear there will still be a reduced update up until and including Saturday - normal service returns on Sunday!

With now just 6 days to Ramblin' Man Fair at Mote Park, Maidstone over the coming weekend 23rd/24th July - we turn our attention to the 'Rising Stage' and WRC favourites Leogun who kick off proceedings on Saturday at 12.45pm. Was it really three years ago that we stumbled across these guys at the Danson Festival in Kent (see our Vid Of The Day)? As they say the rest is history as we last saw them supporting the mighty Lynyrd Skynyrd at The Hammersmith Apollo in April last year

"Brighton native Will Wilde picked up his first harmonica at the age of 16 and is weaned on the likes of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Buddy Guy, Wilde grew up steeped in traditional Chicago Blues, yet his focus as an artist remains resolutely on the future. What I liked about Wilde was the fact that he fuses his obvious passion for Blues with his love of Rock. He takes what's authentic and powerful about the music he grew up loving and introduces the raw energy of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free and Deep Purple without losing the heart and conviction of the Blues. I felt there was a bit of Canned Heat in there as well so I was particularly overjoyed when he did an excellent job covering ‘On The Road Again’ with his band which included Victoria Smith, who is one of the UK's top female bassists.. "Yeagley's vocals, stage presence (and harmonica on 'The Necromancer') were immense, Jake's antics were reminiscent of Animal from The Muppets playing bass, Bishop is literally huge (and more importantly plays a mean guitar) whilst Paul's driving drums pulled it all together. Bravely, they did play some new stuff though - particularly towards the tail end with 'Edge Of The Sun', 'Hold On For Dear Life' and 'Upon A Pale Horse' - but finished off an awesome night returning to 'SS's 'Fly On The Wall'." That was part of our review the last time we saw Crobot at The Underworld last November (pictured). Tonight we get away from the 'Referendum Blues' by seeing them live at the O2 Academy Islington supported by The Bad Flowers (Vid Of The Day) plus Dirty Thrills who we introduced in August last year!

With ‘The Book of Souls’, Iron Maiden has further cemented its iconic status among the rock and metal community. This record is but another grand and fulfilling chapter in a legendary career that is distinguished by deft musicianship, intelligent lyrics and masterful songwriting. Kevin Shirley‘s production is understated yet flawlessly brilliant. Whether ‘The Book of Souls’ is the final chapter in Iron Maiden‘s impressive and historic catalogue of music remains to be seen, but it is certainly among its most memorable offerings since the band’s seminal 80’s works such as ‘Number of the Beast’ and ‘Powerslave’.
