The TR5's

2026

Earlier this month, on 11th September, The TR5's returned with a new 7” release showcasing two of their latest numbers, and once again proving that there is plenty of life left in the old Rock ’n’ Roll flame.

Side A, 'Done Me Wrong', is a sharp slice of Surf Rock that wouldn’t sound out of place on the soundtrack to a Quentin Tarantino movie. From the off, the track has a deliciously retro feel, driven along by the trademark crystalline vocals of flame-haired frontwoman Rusty. There’s a definite ’50s flavour to proceedings, with tight harmonies, double-clap rhythmic patterns and some tasty guitar work adding to the overall sense of swagger.

Flip the record over and 'The Beehive (The Real Buzz Club)' takes things in a subtly different direction. The vocals remain every bit as impressive, while the guitar lays down a satisfying arc over some insistent, driving drumming. It’s another reminder that The TR5's have a firm grasp of the past without sounding like they’re simply looking backwards.

Two sides, two flavours and one very welcome conclusion: Rock ’n’ Roll is still very much alive and kicking.
