"Following a riotous meeting with Colin & AJ at the Joe Bonamassa gig at The Cavern in Liverpool last month, I was looking forward to attending this invitation only gig in this classy venue in Covent Garden. Being a John Verity virgin, I really had no idea what to expect of the evening other than being unceasingly ribbed by the Wrinklies in their inimitable manner. Of course they didn’t disappoint me on that front. Only knowing Argent hits 'Hold your Head Up' and 'God Gave Roll & Roll To You' I was intrigued to know how the evening would roll." Big Wolf Band (today's Track Of The Day) are an exciting and powerful 5 piece Blues band from Birmingham who perform a mixture of originals written by front man and guitarist Jonathan “Big Wolf” Earp as well as their take on a few classics. Influenced from an early age by listening to old records of Blues legends such as Pete Green, Albert Collins, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and many more - his love for the Blues began. Their news single 'Stop Right Now', originally recorded back in 2014, has been reworked, remixed and mastered by industry legend Jon Astley who has produced, recorded and mastered some the greats of our time like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Who and many more!

So how many WRC members are going to the New England Blues Summit weekend taking place at Cape Cod Resort & Conference Centre from today? Indeed, the WRC were tagged on Facebook by USA WRC member Dave Riley late last year about the event which includes Friday headliner Samantha Fish and Saturday headliner Joe Louis Walker (today's Vid Of The Day) - who won Contemporary Blues Male Artist at the 37th Blues Music Awards recently - the fifth Blues Music Award of his career and the third time he has won Contemporary Blues Male Artist - the first one was in 1988!

Having just started a mainland European tour with Steel Panther, WRC favourites Inglorious (who we caught at both Ramblin' Man and Download) have announced a co-headlining run of UK shows with label mates Last In Line including London's O2 Islington Academy on Friday 25th November. Inglorious will also play Planet Rockstock 2016 in Porthcawl on Sunday 4th December.

The Jelly Jam (today's Vid Of The Day) will release their epic new album 'Profit' on Friday 27th May via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. The Jelly Jam feature Dream Theater’s John Myung, Winger’s Rod Morgenstein and King's X Ty Tabor - and return not only with a new album but also their first ever world tour (dates to be announced)! Despite JD Simo dislocating his knee on the first leg (apologies) of their European tour in Paris, SIMO's lead guitarist soldiered on sitting on a chair at a sold out Barfly, Chalk Farm on Thursday night. With bass guitarist Elad Bishop showing solidarity by also sitting in a chair plus the amazing drumming of Adam Abrashoff - it was an amazing evening even more so because of the excellent support of both Fred Abbott (Vid Of The Day) and The Second Echo (Track Of The Day). Last week, Dan Reed Network launched the official music video (today's Vid Of The Day) for their new single “'Divided”'; the first single taken from the band’s new studio album, “'Fight Another Day”' - due to be released by Frontiers Music Srl on Friday 3rd June. Originally formed in Portland, Oregon, Dan Reed Network packed out local clubs from late 1984 through 1986 with their infectious mixture of hard rock, funk and soul - and it's been 25 years since 'The Heat', their last studio album, was released! The album will be supported by a European tour in June, including a performance at the Sweden Rock Festival on Friday 10th June and an album release show at London’'s 100 Club on Wednesday 15th June.

Another act we introduced you to in August last year was Callaghan who is appearing at The Forge in Camden tonight. In the Summer of 2010 Callaghan (today's Track Of The Day) packed up her life in London and moved to Atlanta to record with Grammy nominee Shawn Mullins after contacting him on Myspace. Knocked out by her voice and songwriting, he agreed to produce her debut album 'Life In Full Colour' which was released in 2012 to great reviews. Playing live Callaghan performs on piano and guitar and delivers a vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her songs share stories and emotions and deliver thoughtful lyrics, haunting vocals, and catchy melodies.
