- LastMinuteBandz - Deep Blue Sea 13/8/16
Times they are a-changing. In November last year, 2014 WRC Award winners Little Devils decided to re-group. Yoka and Ray left the band, whilst bassist and main songwriter Graeme Wheatley continued with Sara on drums and guitarist Chris Walker jumping in. Due to other commitments, Sara stepped down to be their deputy drummer and Dave Powell (Adele, Mumford & Sons etc.) joined on the hot seat plus Muzz (pictured) whose powerful voice brings a new range to Little Devils songs - her soulful feel defying her tender age. So, new line up = new band = new name - it's a sea change, ladies and gentlemen, so say hello to the ...... Deep Blue Sea (Vid Of The Day) - our latest addition to LastMinuteBandzhere.
- May The Force Be With You! 16/8/16
"Time for a guitar intro from guest Oli Brown on 'Damn The Reason' - with no let up in Schorr's vocal nor subject matter - this time based on domestic violence. The contradiction is that it's beautifully crafted with Julian Maeso's keyboards, the introduction of backing vocals plus a trademark Brown guitar solo. The opening groovy rhythm guitar of Quique Bonal on 'Cat And Mouse' belies its underlying message of past emotional abuse in the music industry. "I ain't ready for a steady rollin' Tom and Jerry life!" - the moral of this story being that once the shackles are off you can write great groovy music like this with both Sibun and Maeso excelling. The first cover on the album is Lead Belly's classic 'Black Betty' - it's unique arrangement and in particular it's cajun guitar opening - lean heavily methinks on the influence of Sibun's time with Robert Plant in 1993. About slavery and rape - Sari originally performed this at Lead Belly Fest at Carnegie Hall - Ram Jam it certainly ain't - but it's powerful production, Innes' guitar and Sari's undeniable enthusiasm and attitude deliver a classic from within a classic." - Blues With Bite! 8/8/16
Three musicians with a mutual love and respect of the classics of Blues Rock music, big guitar riffs, soulful vocals and dynamic drumming. Yes our latest addition to LastMinuteBandz are Sidewinder (Vid Of The Day) - their influences stemming from the iconic players of the seventies through to present day in the Blues Rock genre as diverse as Robin Trower, Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore, BB King and Joe Bonamassa. They were later joined by Clive Edwards ex of UFO and Pat Travers Band on drums to complete this driving force of Rocking Blues!
- Ramblin' Man Fair Review - Saturday 28/7/16
"6pm was time for the Zombies, a band originally formed, as they kept reminding us, over 50 years ago. This puts the members well into their 70’s, though none of them actually mentioned that! Only two of the original Zombies remain, but they are the key two: Colin Blunstone (lead vocals) and Rod Argent (keyboard and vocals). Apart from the obligatory couple of songs from their latest album, the set consisted of well-known songs not only from the Zombie’s history but also from the solo spells of Colin (‘I Don’t Believe In Miracles’) and Rod (‘Hold Your Head Up’). At 71 Colin’s voice is inevitably past its best and occasionally faded, but it mattered not - the songs were so well known the singing crowd was often drowning out his vocals anyway. In any case, Rod’s keyboard playing, always critical to the Zombies’ success, has hardly faltered; it was particularly impressive on ‘Time of the Season’. Of all the bands playing on Saturday, I probably enjoyed the Zombies’ set most, possibly because I knew virtually all the songs - but that’s just giving my age away!!" - LastMinuteBandz - Teresa Mascianà 10/8/16
Teresa Masciana (Vid Of The Day) began her career as sound engineer in Italy and still manages her own recording studio and mobile sound company which has taken her on tour with artists and bands in Europe, Canada and USA! In March 2012 - the latest addition to our LastMinuteBandz - surprised everyone with her first album 'Don’t Love Me' (Top Records) an upbeat collection of songs with a positive, commercial indie sound. Halfway through 2015 Teresa decided to move to England to produce her new music and to live close to the British record industry which has always fascinated her. On April 2016 her new album 'I Need You' was released by the British label Long Tales Recording. The album contains four sparkling and visceral songs. British influences light up Teresa’s songs giving them an international taste. The original sounds, the new voice and her energy seem to have been renewed by the new country!
