Coinciding with yesterday's news reaching Wrinkly Towers that King King's new CD 'Reaching For The Light' has reached Number One in the Amazon Blues Download Chart - the official album launch is actually taking place tonight at The Jazz Cafe in London! Anyway the awesome 'Rush Hour' taken from their new album is our 'Track Of The Day'!

The Blacktop boys have been in touch and we're delighted to include their excellent new single 'Suds & Crow' as our 'Video Of The Day'. Not only that - but you can download the single for FREE here and it will appear in its full form on their second - yet to be named - album due for recording this May. The guys have already received lots of 'pre-orders' from friends all over the world which has really helped them in the 'up front' costs of recording, duplicating and producing the finished product. Today we introduce Lux Lisbon - a four-piece harmony-laden indie band - formed at Nottingham University before moving to London. With Dog is Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen and Bloc Party influences - their last 3 gigs at the Lexington, London, have sold out months in advance and their next headline gig is at Bush Hall, London, on Friday 12th June. Therefore our 'Track Of The Day' is the title track from their EP 'Get Some Scars’ and all eleven tracks are free-to-download here.

The WRC first caught up with Blackberry Smoke when the Islington Academy became part of the Confederacy almost a year ago. Consequently the guys from Atlanta, Georgia, walked away with our 2014 'Best International' award! Indeed Wrinkly The Silver was there that night and now he gives us his excellent take on their new CD 'Holding All The Roses' of which "Too High' is our 'Video Of The Day'.

Staying on the continent and also talking of new album's - Swedish rock band Europe release their tenth studio album 'War Of Kings' this week. Ahead of that and the start of a UK tour - our 'Track Of The Day' sees Rory chatting to lead singer Joey Tempest about the album and of course their huge hit 'The Final Countdown'. Also on this week's Route 66 podcast are new tracks from The Black Circles and Joe Bonamassa who the WRC are off to see at the Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday 19th March.

Also playing a gig at Fibbers in York tonight is our old mucker Larry Miller. Not only that but The Mentulls, who are performing at The Red Lion, Gravesend, on Friday 15th May - are supporting Larry. Therefore our 'Track Of The Day' is taken from our 2013 Bluesfest archives when both The Mentulls and Larry were on the same bill.
