  • Thunder For Ramblin' Man! 22/2/16

Despite being in the 'cheap seats' rather than his usual photo pit - Rockrpix's John Bull still managed to take this superb pic of Thunder lead singer Danny Bowes at Wembley Arena last Saturday night. First up on the bill were King King who apparently did themselves proud although we understand next band Terrorvision were not everyone's cup of tea? "Thunder were absolutely brilliant" and "Thunder were FAB" were the 'considered' views of WRC members present at the end of the gig - also buoyed by the news that they would also be playing Ramblin' Man in July!

  • Dom On Target! 14/2/16

As you no doubt know, our mates Shooter (today's Track Of The Day) are going out with a bang (supported by 2015 WRC Award winners Southbound) at their farewell gig at The Half Moon, Putney, London, on Thursday 3rd March here. Shooter frontman Dom O'Riley is also running the Fulham F.C. Craven Cottage 10k run today in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and we are delighted to report that he has already broken through his fundraising target of £750. So if you fancy supporting Dom then either get down to the banks of The Thames today or donate here ... or do both!

  • 1966: The Brit Blues Boom 7/2/16

The David Sinclair Four (or to be precise - trio at that time) were memorably part of BluesFest 2014 (pictured). But did you know that, unlike the WRC editorial team, David is a also a distinguished music journalist not only writing for The Times but also contributing to Sky News such as on the recent death of David Bowie. Anyway in the latest edition of Classic Rock, Sinclair has penned an excellent article here on the 'year that built rock' which just goes to show that '66 was not all about England winning the World Cup!

  • All American Blues! 25/1/16

And talking of great internet music, today's Black On Blues Track Of The Day features an all American lineup for you! This week's playlist features 55 Rose Street, David M’Ore, Anthony Charles & the Blues Dolphins, Big Al Carter, Big Joe Duskin, Brad Wilson and Georgie Bonds.

Tickets to see the former 2012 WRC Award winner are still available on the door for £10 and JV and his band will be supported by The Unknown. Meanwhile JV was duly mentioned in despatches during Russ Ballard's interview with Mike Read at an 'Evening With Russ Ballard' at Leicester Square Theatre, London, on Wednesday night. Praise indeed and a good enough reason to get down to Leos tonight and see the man in action!

  • Radio Luxembourg Calling! 7 September 2015

Hands up those of you who used to twiddle your transistor radio knobs to listen to Radio Luxembourg in the 60's? Following the demise of the pirate radio stations at the end of the 60's, Radio Luxembourg was once again the only provider of popular music, well at least during the night. So the WRC were delighted to receive our latest membership application from Alfred in Bertrange, Luxembourg! Don't forget you can still fill out a form here to become a WRC member for life for FREE and we'll consequently send you a WRC members card which you can not only use to benefit from discounted WRC Xmas Party tickets but also other current members offers e.g. discounted venue tickets and merchandise - which we also hope to add to in the future.

  • British Blues Awards Fallout Continues! 18 September 2015

Today's Video Of The Day not only features the winning 'Young Artist' in this year's British Blues Awards, but also another guitarist who came a highly commended third in the 'Bass' category! Yes we turn the clock back to the iconic 100 Club last year when we saw Laurence Jones and Roger Inniss (both pictured) - the vid testament to why these guys are held in such regard by their voting public. And talking of a well deserved third place in this year's Independent Blues Broadcaster category - tune in to The Marshman from 7pm BST here tonight for Blues On The Marsh.

  • Ramblin' Man Fair Review - Sunday 26th July 3 August 2015

"Despite it being my **th birthday – it was a case of drat and double drat given the rain plus the anticipated problems with ‘Operation Stack’ as Wrinkly The Elder and I set off down the M20 on Sunday morning. Given Saturday’s good weather and the excellent WRC twitter coverage from both Mr. Rockrpix and Wrinkly The Silver – it looked like Sunday was going to be a hard act to follow. But hey-ho - we had already planned our itinerary for the day’s proceedings with our website countdown the week before and things were looking even better as we easily managed to park up in a side road close to the entrance. As the WRC crew consequently gathered together under the protection of the beer tent - life didn’t appear so bad after all - until Wrinkly realised that the two pints of Pimm’s in his round set him back £23.60. Ouch! Go here for the rest of AJ's review, here for our Sunday photo gallery plus have a gander at our Seasick Steve Video Of The Day from the Sunday!
