- BluesFest 2014 Memories - Absolution 18 June 2015
With three musicians from different backgrounds and different styles, Absolution created a fresh and exciting sound at both BluesFest 2013 & 2014. Their British Blues-Rock had elements of early Free and Joe Bonamassa thrown in for good measure! Having already shared the stage with Blues legends Dr. Feelgood, Danny Bryant and King King - they not only managed to fit in a storming set at the British Rock & Blues festival in January 2013 but they took home two awards at the 2013 WRC Awards - 'Ones To Watch' and 'Best Guitar Solo' - following their performance at BluesFest 2013. They signed to European record label Blues Boulevard Records in 2014 and released 'Dusty Road' in September on a worldwide release - shortly after their second BluesFest performance (see Vid Of the Day). Straight away the album started selling across the globe and brought more plaudits for the band from press and fans alike!

- It's Record Store Day! 18 April 2015
Our 'Video Of The Day' is that time of year again when the nation celebrates those magical emporiums of musical merchandising. Record Store Day came into being in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture. The UK followed suit and 2015 will see the eighth celebration of the UK's unique independent sector. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJ's, in store quizzes and many other events. For more information on RSD go here!
- DJB Raise The Roof! 23 April 2015
Blues On The Radio's Richard Dunning posed the question - "Can just three people raise the roof of a building?" and answered it: "When those three are Dave Jackson, Janet Jackson (pictured) and Reg Patten (collectively known as Dave Jackson Band) the answer is an unequivocal yes!" And, not only did they raise the roof at The Tuesday Night Music Club with a storming two and a half hours of some of the best music you could hope for - Dave and Janet also joined Richard live in the BOTR studio before the gig! Consequently our Track Of The Day is that BOTR podcast which as well as DJB also includes Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix and Dan Patlansky. Enjoy!

- Bartlett's Back- Will You Be? 2 April 2015
It was nice for the WRC to be included in a Tweet last Thursday from our friend Mike Bartlett of Meridian Radio - although it was too late for us to broadcast on our website but at least we retweeted it. "Clothes optional all are welcome @MeridianRadio from six this evening @simonpegg @fromapenny @reygibb @WRINKLYCLUB Bartletts back, will U" - was the message - so if you want to join the self-proclaimed 'Builder of ROCKet ships, Music for and by the Gods' then tune in to Mike's Thursday Night @ the Empire show here tonight between 8 and 10pm (although going by last week it could be earlier :-)
- Who Put The Boot In! 24 March 2015
Just under forty one years after their iconic Charlton gig in 1974 The Who returned to South East London again on Monday night - albeit two legends down - but still firing on all cylinders. Of course the line "Hope I Die Before I Get Old" has come back to bite them on the bum over the year's - but 'Who' gives a s**t? Rumoured to be their last ever tour - if you have never seen them live - then make sure you see them at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday or Hyde Park in June (we will be there) - otherwise you will never forgive yourself! Naturally The Who live at the O2 is our 'Video Of The Day' but look out for a review, more pics and vids tomorrow.
