Immortal Machinery are a Gothic Hard Rock trio from London. Formed only a couple of years ago, they are fast becoming known as a hard-working, relentlessly-gigging band with an intense and entertaining live show. As well as hosting many self-promoted gigs, they also have an album release, a UK tour and a Camden-based residency under their belts in a relatively short space of time. 2015 WRC Award nominees Rock On The Ridge also included some fellow nominees on their show, originally broadcast last Saturday night. Indeed Saturday's tweet from Bob and Jules duly promised "On the show tonight @blacktopdeluxe @bandsouthbound @QueenWillRock @IronMaiden @alterbridge @SHOOTERtheBand @deeppurple_off & more Ho Ho Ho". Believe it or not - our second gig of the day took place at the Elephant & Castle in Amersham, as we celebrated WRC member Darren King's 50th birthday! The surprise bash organised by Darren's lovely wife Liz was also attended by some of The Replicants - although they were able to relax and enjoy another Cover's band! Naturally, Darren was presented with a new WRC t-shirt to mark the occasion! Happy birthday mate!

Hot on the heels of last night's Rockin' The Blues part 1 with Broken Witt Rebels and the Kris Barras Band at The Proud in Camden - it's round two tonight as Kris and the guys travel down to Leo's Red Lion in Gravesend, Kent, to gig with both Salvation Jayne and Big River!

Although typically charging people to come to his 60th birthday celebration at BluesRockFest - today is actually WRC legend Col's (aka Wrinkly) official birthday. Pictured second from left on Leo's Red Lion stage on Saturday presenting The Mentulls with their 2015 WRC Best Blues Performance award, Colin received a big card signed by all those present, a '60 Years On Tour' WRC t-shirt and a cake with the WRC logo on it! That was the message from Route 66 host Rory Auskerry ahead of Sunday night's show. As we know - Rory is a man of his word as today's Track Of The Day testifies! Check out new tracks from the Jimmy Bez Blues Band, Mollys Daggers and Jared James Nichols (pictured) plus classic rock hits from Steve Miller Band, Deep Purple (1968-1976) and Van Halen.

"They began appropriately with the first track off the album 'Ain't Got Not Money' - Sibun's Gary Moore reminiscent style intro on New Yorker Schorr's protest against the greed of Wall Street, with her powerful earthy vocal already letting The Thames siders know what was in store. A memory from their Surya Showcase gig last December was Sibun's rockin' solo and Olinder's keys on 'Demolition Man' - again forcefully sung and written by Schorr in support of Amnesty International's resolution to decriminalise sex work. The opening groovy rhythm guitar of Innes on 'Cat And Mouse' belies its underlying message of past emotional abuse in the music industry, which saw both Sibun and Olinder excelling again. Schorr's recent performance at Carnegie Hall's Lead Belly Fest resulted in her tribute to the main man with a great cover of 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night' - appropriate to those of us who were wondering what the train's would be like after the gig. And you can take the man out of Zeppelin but you can't take Zeppelin out of the man - or to be precise, Sibun's time with Robert Plant - with their barnstorming cover of 'Rock And Roll' - Innes going for it hammer and tongs - Jimmy eat your heart out mate! The mellower 'Oklohoma' was introduced by Sari - although this correspondent's embarrassing "yes" was wrongfully construed by Sari that I actually had been there - the story being that a last minute change of plan ends up with her gigging with Joe Louis Walker ... hence 'Oklohoma'. Another groovy number - that as predicted built into one mean fusional outro jam with Anders' keys, another Sibun guitar solo (Oli Brown was on the album) plus Schorr's excellent lyrical diction. And talking of the British Blues Awards - today's Blues On The Radio Track Of The Day includes music from the finalists in the 'Song Of The Year' and 'Band of The Year' categories. Host Richard Dunning also featured music from The Rainbreakers (pictured) ahead of their gig earlier this week at The Tuesday Night Music Club.

Inmazes was mixed by Asger Mygind and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Symphony X, Paradise Lost, Devin Townsend, Fates Warning and Arch Enemy). Before the end of 2015, the band played high-profile gigs like Euroblast in Germany and ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands - and after its official release - VOLA will indeed tour the UK and mainland Europe.
