  • U2 2 At Borderline Tonight! 15/12/15

Well we saw the real thing at the O2 Arena, London, in October (pictured) but tonight the WRC are off to a special London show at The Borderline where U2 2 will be in concert with all money raised going to Mencap. The show has been set up with ambassadors from Mencap including The Edge’s cousin, Ciara Lawrence Evans. Ciara will be making a speech to highlight Mencap’s ongoing work and U2 2 will be performing a full show. U2 2 are the world’s longest running U2 tribute. Formed by current members in 1992, they have performed over 1000 shows, spanning three continents. Watch out hopefully for a review, pics and a vid over the coming days!

  • Something Supernatural! 7/11/15

So much good music - so little time! The WRC are so fortunate to have strong ties with fans, bands and of course publicists. Consequently Pennsylvanian band Crobot have been on the WRC radar for a while now but it wasn't until AJ (appropriately on a flight back from the US recently) found 'Something Supernatural' on the Virgin playlist (among other WRC favourites such as Blues Pills, Steven Wilson and Blackberry Smoke) - something that AJ was well impressed with! Fortuitously he recalled they were due to play The Underworld in London - and to be told if you’re a fan of the album you’ll be absolutely blown away by their live show - consequently last night's gig was a no-brainer. Anyway a review and John Bull's pics to come - but in the meantime enjoy today's VId Of The Day taken live last night!

  • Rebels Stick To Their Guns 27/5/16

We announced last Sunday news of another WRC Promotion featuring Broken Witt Rebelshere at The Proud, Camden on Thursday 20th October. In the past few weeks, the buzz around the self-released, Birmingham Blues Rock band has reached a deafening roar. So much so that the band have rushed out new single 'Guns' to capitalize on fan driven interest. It all started when a live version of previous single 'Low' was uploaded to their Facebook page, within four days the video had amassed an impressive 130,000 views. This caught the attention of viral content geniuses Buzzfeed, who invited the band into their offices to play a live streamed gig for their 1.3m strong Facebook group, part of their Music Breaks Series. Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any better, the 'Guns' video was elevated to the front page of YouTube - the video amassing over 100,000 views in less than one day!

  • Time To Reinvent Tradition! 23/5/16

"You must have seen that Toyota Advert featuring Primal Scream and 'Movin On Up'? The one with the audience going wild as the band rock out on stage playing with their cellos and double bass? We're challenged to "redefine fun" and "it's time to reinvent tradition". The irony was not lost on me as Dick Dynamite strolled on to the Borderline stage last Monday with his double bass in tow - supported by his Doppelgängers - namely Loz Hawkins on guitar and Aitor 'Sleepy' Gonzales on drums. Their frenetic delivery was very much in line with their Facebook profile "sociopathic bastards from a planet on the far side of the sun. Some say they play music, the truth is much more sinister..." but the intense Phsycobilly from the half-naked DD&TD's went down well with their home town crowd as they beat the s**t out of their last CD 'Dead Man Walking'. More like waking the dead but definitely redefining fun!" Read the rest of AJ's Hillbilly Moon Explosion/Dick Dynamite & The Doppelgangers review here and check out our photo gallery here.
