  • Ramblin' Man Photo Gallery - Sunday 27/7/16

As we continue to reflect on an awesome weekend at Ramblin' Man Fair at beautiful Mote Park in Maidstone - we now have our first salvo of pics from Sunday in our Photo Gallery here. Amongst WRC friends we bumped into over a memorable weekend were Replicants guitarist Steve Hesmondhalgh, Leo's Red Lion Mein Host Terry Lee, Geoff Carne of The Hatz, ex-Bad Company guitarist Dave 'Bucket' Colwell and MJC Boss Nicola Bowden. It was also good to hear from WRC member Rob "Did you catch Pat McManus in the Blues tent? What a gem! To my shame I have never heard this man play before yesterday. As the man said "I was born between Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore... so I was ****ed!" Wasted at the early performance, could have closed the main stage in my opinion. Great festival and the sun smiled!" We couldn't agree more Rob!

Consisting of Nick Simper (currently with Deep Purple), Peter Parks, Alan Barratt, Simon Bishop and Richard Hudston, the band members have played with or alongside Johnny Kidd & The Pirates, BB King, Simple Minds, Cliff Bennett & The Rebelrousers, The Tremeloes and The Strawbs. • Greenwich Music Time! 11/7/16

"GMT, in front of 5,000 people, was the penultimate of his five special concerts - an artist who no doubt epitomises the music business cliche of reinventing yourself given his last three offerings of 'Driving Towards The Daylight', 'Muddy Wolf At Red Rocks', 'Blues Of Desparation' and now his latest salute to British Blues! Not unsurprisingly, JB's setlist was pretty much the same as The Cavern - although he did throw in a penultimate Zep cover 'Black Winter/Django' and of course an encore of 'Sloe Gin' instead of The Beatles 'Taxman' for obvious reasons. Also, in addition to his salute to the British Holy Trinity - BC&P - Bonamassa duly covered some John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - namely 'Double Crossing Time' and 'Little Girl' but for mine it was so refreshing to hear a couple of Zep classic's that could be considered nowadays as being off the beaten track - such as 'Boogie With Stu' and 'Tea For One/I Can't Quit You Baby'." • Hard Love 29/7/16

NEEDTOBREATHE (Vid Of The Day) are celebrating their highest charting album ever with the release of their sixth studio record 'Hard Love', out now through Atlantic Records. We first saw them supporting Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling in 2012 and the album has topped the iTunes Album Chart and has entered the Soundscan/Billboard ‘Top Current Albums’ chart at No.1. The Grammy-nominated rock band’s highly anticipated album also topped Billboard’s ‘Top Albums’, ‘Top Current Rock Albums’, ‘Current Alternative Albums’, ‘Current Digital Albums’, and ‘Overall Digital Albums’ charts, and entered the Billboard 200 at No.2. 'Hard Love' has surpassed the success of the South-Carolina quartet’s 'Rivers In The Wasteland' of 2014, which charted at No.3 in the Billboard Hot 200 and spawned the Grammy-nominated single ‘Multiplied’.

So one week they'll be at their present venue in Hooley Village and the next they'll be in Coulsdon, then back to Hooley and so on and so on. Got it? Good! Don't forget that this Tuesday's gig is Malaya Blue at the usual venue: the Hooley Village Club, St. Margaret's Road, Hooley Village, Coulsdon, Surrey, CR5 3RB.
